Ready For The Season
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) See this is where I would have to disagree with you.. We call the Yankees the "Evil Empire" Correct? The Cubs are the NL version of that, we are the good side of the force. See you are looking at this from the current version of the movies.. I am looking at it from EP. IV-VI.. The Jedi are small, but come out in force in time to take what is rightfully theirs. How big of geeks are we, that we are arguing, Star Wars on a baseball message board! Which team is the equivalent of this then?

Memphis@ bulls.
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) I have no idea what type of packege what get us Kobe, Curry, Davis and Gordon would prolly be i assume... but if u allow Kirk to be a PG and had Kobe at the 2 with Deng Chandler and a C/PF of some sorts... i think thats a pretty solid line-up. That being said I've exposed myself for the moron I am, and I still really doubt Kobe is going to be a Bull (eventhough he thought about it over summer)... and i hope he wont. Right now you gotta keep Gordon. Kobe's just going to be a huge ballhawk on offense, and other players will start complaining about not getting the ball. Look at Lamar Odom, he should be an all-star, yet he's only putting up average numbers compared to what he showed he could do in his last season in Miami. Also unless you could get Sam Dalembert for the MLE, it's going to be hard to find a starting center if u trade for Kobe with his max deal.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) the salaries have to be within a percent of eachother for trade to happen... so i doubt Childress and a first rounder will equal that. Isn't that for teams who are over the cap though or maybe I'm wrong. I know Atlanta is definitely going to be under the cap, but the Lakers won't be, and if it's a percent IIRC it'll be 20%. Which is why it's going to be even harder for the Lakers to dump him. They could of had the chance this off-season and just let him go to the Clippers.

Ready For The Season
I'm going to try and get my dad to actually get me a Sox jersey when he's in Arizona in May which'll be pretty cool to have. The only piece of Sox merchandise I have now is a really old yucky black hat that has no resemblence of the Sox logo on it whatsoever.

For those of you with a full time job...
Ask me in a year and half when hopefully I have a full - time job in an accounting company working in taxation or auditing most likely. Right now my part - time job is pretty crappy unless you consider picking up clothes and shoes and putting away returns loads of fun.

Aussie Drug Case
There's been a big story round here for the past month or so about a 27 year old student who was caught in Indonesia with 4.1 kgs of Marijuana in her boogy - board bag. Pretty sad story, she's denying all of the charges and could be executed if she's found guilty. Now the twist in all of this is that a prison inmate has been flown from Melbourne and testified that she is telling the truth and that she was unwittingly carrying the drugs that were meant to be dropped off in Sydney for a Crime Gang;

2005 League One thread
I made you an offer there, I'm probably looking to upgrade my starting pitching a little, but I'm not going to deal my power hitters much, but Delgado could be available in the right deal.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Espn's Chad ford said that Kobe might be traded.... then again its chad ford. Cough......Cancer!!!Cancer!!!....Cough Who's going to be able to trade for Kobe anyway. Atlanta maybe? Josh Childress + 1st pick maybe? EDIT: And this statement says it all really;

Who's in, who's out
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) Agreed, unless they trade for one first. And with Jim Bowden at the helm, anything's possible.

Who's in, who's out
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) That is correct but so be it. Ozuna is outplaying him and deserves the spot. Hopefully, Valdez will go unclaimed, we will be able to sign him to a minor league deal, and send him to Charlotte. If not, oh well... I'm thinkin Washington would be the most likely team to claim him, they are really desperate for a backup infielder who can play SS.

Chris Widger
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) I really don't think so as he's not on the 40 man roster. He might have this option, though: Are there any better situations out there for Widger though? If the Sox are shopping Davis, then you'd have Burke and Chris as backups depending on which one the Sox would decide to keep as the backup unless they went with the 3 catchers. I'll say this though, it's definitely a good problem to have, Widger's play in ST has certainly opened some eyes around here.

Austin Bracket
With Bogut leaving for the NBA I've jumped off the Utah bandwagon and onto the Spartan one for the final four.

first place bulls?
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Yep, and neither are these guys: 5. Allen Iverson (Philadelphia 76ers) 6. LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) 7. Steve Francis (Orlando Magic) 8. Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat) And they all rank ahead of Kirk. Ahh yes Steve Francis. Anybody want him still? I've still got dreams of Atlanta trading their 1st pick for him so we can draft Bogut, but that's never going to happen. Now some stats here for a Hinrich vs. Duhon argument; Hinrich - Assist / Bad Pass = 4.6 Passing Rating = 10.8 AST48 (using the more than 2 minutes argument here qwerty and willie) = 8.7 "Hands" Rating = 24.1 Duhon - Assist / Bad Pass = 5.0 Passing Rating = 11.9 AST48 = 9.0 "Hands" Rating = 23.3

first place bulls?
Either way Detroit is going to be ready come playoff time, and I think almost everyone knows it's going to be a Pistons vs Heat Conference Final. But I wish Skiles would be getting more for coach of the year, instead of Mike Fratello and George Karl.

X-Box Game Question
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Halo2 is all about the multiplayer. I don't know why getting Live is selling out, but there is some cool s*** out there. Splinter CEll has some of the coolest online stuff. You're missing out. No doubt. BTW tonyho7476, I think I added u to my buddies list on XBOX Live yesterday IIRC.

THT: Sox Season Preview
That's a damn good preview, graphs and stats that are actually quite easy to follow. They've done their homework alright, and they're quite correct when saying starting pitching will probably make the difference.

Bulls v. Pacers
Man I haven't been invovled in this thread yet and it looks like I've missed out on all of the fun. To those who think Eddy Curry is going to contribute after this season, in his contract year, take a look at the likes of Michael Stewart, Jerome James, Calvin Booth and Erick Dampier to show that handing out big fat contracts to big fat guys who don't rebound or play defense isn't a wise move. Sign Dalembert, sign Marshall and move on.
