  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) The score just said it could be a torn Ligament Is that better than a broken foot? Who's a doctor round here?
  2. Last year though April was Buerhle's worst month of the season with a 1-1 5.93 ERA, but that doesn't take away how big of a loss this is. Lucky we have that depth now in pitching isn't it.
  3. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) If B-Mac continues to pitch the way he is pitching, than we can survive, but if he explodes like countless others in his spot, we better hope the bullpen and offense comes through. Amazingly I don't think Sox fans will be that worried about B-Mac. It'll be the other 3 in Contreras, Garland and Hernandez that'll probably decide whether we sink or swim in April.
  4. QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) who should start opening day now? No doubt it'll be Freddy Garcia.
  5. QUOTE(quade36 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Well they didn't say he broke it definitely. They said he could be out 2-6 weeks. Let's certainly hope it's only 2 weeks, and it doesn't have any long - term repurcussions. This is getting pinned. Big, big news.
  6. Wow, if that's really the case than I guess B-Mac will be up with us starting the season. This really creates some dilemmas though, because if B-Mac pitches great, than when Buerhle comes back IF he has broken his foot, then there will be real pressure on KW to trade Garland or Contreras instead of sending B-Mac down to AAA. Hopefully this isn't true though, because it would be a HUGE blow to our chances even if he only misses 6 weeks.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Who is maury? I think it's RedPinStripes.
  8. Stat Line for B-Mac. 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB's, 4 SO's, 1 HR. Looks like Adkins gave up 3 ER's in relief to lose the game in 1 1/3 IP. Walker didn't give up a run in 1 1/3 IP. Gene will love this, Perez was 2 for 2 today. Also looking at the box score, there's a SS F. Martinez, haven't seen him before. Was he one of guy signed to a minor league deal perhaps to take over at AAA if Valdez doesn't make the team?
  9. Lucky Rick Peterson. He has 2 pitchers in Ishii and Zambrano who are going to walk batters so much now.
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) I thought it was on Thursday? ^^ that. It's on Friday @ 12 p.m for me which would be bout 8 or 9p.m central on a Thursday Night over there I'm guessing.
  11. All this discussion is moot. Andrew Bogut is going to OWN all of your asses anyways.
  12. Sharks have always seemed to be a problem down here especially during the past few years. Like TRU I wouldn't go too far out in the ocean either.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) God no. I don't care, I don't want to see the Sox screw up the development of another pitcher. They did that enough last year with the whole 5th starter fiasco. The only plus side is I don't think Munoz or Diaz or Rauch have a bright future, especially in regards to starting pitching. The same can't be said for Brandon McCarthy who has a shot to be real special. Hell, I still think that if Neal was in AAA last year to start the season last years 5th starters spot would of been different. But thats obviously not a big thing, I just Ozzie would stretch him out soon, just so he has that ability if the Sox need a start or two, not a longer string of them. Let's just hope that if the Sox do decide to bring B-Mac they don't continue with that giving him 2 days rest and pitching him from the bullpen like they did with so many of their failed 5th starters last season. In regards to Rauch, he's missed out on a spot in Washington's rotation although it was always going to be hard for him to beat Zach Day unless his moved for Willy Mo Pena (you can never tell with Jim Bowden these days).
  14. Dwight Howard >>> Eddy Curry. Just thought I'd point that out for some apparent reason. Jason, I know you think Curry's the only low post player for the Bulls and you're probably right. The thing is, is he going to be worth a maximum contract in the off-season? Is his low post play enough to off-set his lack of defense and rebounding? Is Chandler more important than Curry because of the impact he makes on the defensive end? By the way Dalembert looked damn good for the 76ers, I've long been a fan of his. I'd be interested to see if there were any stats on how many points Curry scores from the low post compared to garbage points like put - backs and tip ins etc.
  15. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Buehrle Garcia ? BMac Hernandez the sox should get another SP, a number 3 or higher, then they would have a nice 06 starting staff. JG and contreras are soooo inconsistant. Two things have to happen for that to occur. Contreras would need to be traded, most likely with the Sox paying some portion of his salary, while Garland would either be non - tendered (like the Pierzynski situation) or traded (definitely most likely the latter). Who would the #3 guy be though if we signed a FA (don't know the list off the top of my head). Or maybe even the Sox trade for a guy like Sheets and push Buerhle and Garcia down a spot each.
  16. 1st - Mark Buerhle for obvious reasons. The guy's just such a great asset for this team to have. 2nd - Damaso Marte. Ever since he came over from Pittsburgh, I'd love the way he'd attack hitters with that 98MPH fastball of his. A damn good relief pitcher (top 5 lefty) when at his best. 3rd - Aaron Rowand. Just a hard worker who's going to deserve everything that comes good to him in the future.
  17. This just goes to show how much of an idiot Mike Illitch is.
  18. QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) im not emailing them, i am aim'ing them How many ppl did you AIM tonight telling ppl Sox and Roll were back on the air FWIW?
  19. I don't think many of us would be in favor of the Neal Cotts thing version 2.0 happening again. McCarthy's starting in AAA, period.
  20. QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) I've read that Valdez is out of options so the sox would lose him. So somewhere the sox will need to trade for a AAA SS. I haven't heard that, but do the Knights still have Kelly Dransfeldt as well or did he leave along with the likes of Ryan Hankins?
  21. And of course Orlando beats Portland in Portland today. It's something called ball movement, and not having 50 dribbles per possesion.
  22. It seems inevitable now, Valdez will be back in AAA for sure, with Ozuna as the bench guy. The only thing to watch now it seems is will Ben Davis be moved to get Jamie Burke onto the 25 man roster?
  23. Utah baby!!! Great to see the other guys step up today like Hawkins especially, Jackson and Markson. They had to make their shots if Bogut was going to get double and triple teamed, and they did.
  24. Rick Peterson is good, but he's not Leo Mazzone good.
