I hope you've BEEN GOOD now.

Yes DBAH0 is coming, so be afraid .................... be very, very afraid.

Soxy is one of the best intellectual posters around here, and also one of the funniest.

The O's could be considered off-season winners for not making any bone headed moves, and not offering to big contracts to players who don't deserve it. They need to develop that young pitching of theirs as much as possible.

White Sox, Magic, Cowboys, Blackhawks

Damn if only he spoke Chinese instead then I could do a little translating, oh well. Thanks for the info gotoh00, proving to be a good source on anything Iguchi in the past few days. It's good to see that he's confident and wants to perform well, I just hope he doesn't put too much pressure on himself to perform if he's struggling early, which is probably going to happen. This is the 2nd .300 prediction I've seen today, the other one coming from Aaron Gleemen, esteemed Twins Blogger. The potential is certainly there for him to do that, whether or not it happens, that remains to be seen.

Rotoworld thinks the Red Sox is going to get cash in the deal. I guess clubhouse chemistry and a superior offensive first baseman won out over the superior defensive first baseman in Dougy. Losing out on Delgado pretty much forced their hand.

I saw Gleeman was going to do a big write up on Iguchi using some numbers. That certainly gives me more hope, after seeing that piece. It's interesting to see that power numbers for all 4 players have dropped in their 1st season over here, but Iguchi could change that trend, just because of the fact he'll be hitting half his games at the Cell.

Doctor's orders: Don't play T.O.

And you can thank Roy Williams and the Dallas Cowboys for the Eagles choking again. -
QUOTE(Man Of Steel @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) What makes you say that? To go back with The Franchise? I thought I heard somewhere that Orlando could have enough cap - room to make him an offer when he's a free agent, but unless Hill's contract comes off the books which I don't think it does, than we can't make a bid for him. But I've heard he doesn't want to go to a major market team, and Orlando would be a good market for him, plus he'd be re-united with his good buddy Stevie Franchise.

Now make him jump all over the screen with that lightsaber.

I don't know if anyone has heard this story but down here, 2 kittens in different states were attacked by stupid youths who had nothing better to do with their time. Here's one of the stories;

Illinois/Wisconson predictions
DBAHO replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
To me, it's very important that Illinois get off to a good start tonight, to try and quieten the Wisconsin crowd as much as possible. If they can shoot up to about 40 to 45%, I think that'll be good enough to win. -
QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) I think Reynoso is the clear choice. I mean, I've never even heard of the guy until this thread. Matt Smith is a marginal prospect, and could be claimed. He put up solid numbers last year. Sean Tracey is the second best pitching prospect (assuming Honel is hurt) in the Sox system. Those kind of strikeout rates indicate a good pitcher, and pitchers generally gain control over time. Sean Tracey strikes me as a guy with a higher ceiling than McCarthy even, but with a lower probability of success. Lopez may make it through waivers (position players are more likely to make it), but Reynoso seems to be the clear choice. I'm sure I remember reading Dave Wilder I think or maybe it was KW, saying they thought Reynoso was set for a really good year this season. I think he'll be starting for the Warthogs, but I'm going off the top of my head here, and I think he can hit up to 95 or even a little more on his fastball.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) The problem being if El Duque or someone else goes down, who becomes the 5th starter? If Grilli is released, my guess would probably be Hermanson, unless B-Mac showed he was ready, but I don't want him up here until 2006 at the earliest. Diaz isn't going to succeed as a major league starter with only 2 good pitches.

They'll choke eventually, but tonight won't be the night. -
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) IMO we trade Joe, for what ever we can get for him, he serves less of a purpose than Willie does. You know that's not going to happen not matter how much you may want it.

Yes, I'll be getting my butt to all the games I can this season.................. Uhhhh that'll be none sorry.

Well at least you didn't say "Sweet Fancy Moses" I guess.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Is it poor planning or poor advising? I have seen more than once where bad advise from an adviser lead to these kind of problems. "Now, now, who was that? That is not appropriate behavior, mmkay?"

QUOTE(S720 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Now that Kenny has fabulously accomplished his goal and done with this offseason, I kind of feel a little bit sad. There is no more waiting in ancitipation, excitement and anxiety! Now is just painfully watching time and time and time to go by until Spring Training. When does Spring Training begin? Hell Kenny, make one more move just for the sake of more excitement. Ask JR to increase payroll to 80 mils, then trade Garland, Willie Harris and a prospect to Arizona for Vazquez . This will close this offseason PERFECTLY! Acquiring Vazquez would add an extra $5 million to our payroll, I doubt JR is going to allow that.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) So you want to give up a sure thing in Garland for a maybe in Vazquez. Glad your not the GM... Contreas for Vazquez and now your talking... Sorry Jeckle, me thinks you are going to get called out on defending Garland as a sure thing again.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) I think you'll see Timo have more range this year. He was on bad wheels last season. Yeah I heard that too. Didn't he have a hernia problem or something?

This Detroit Columnist wants the Tiggies to give Maggs a guaranteed 4 years, 40 million;

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I have heard japanese baseball considered ''4a''. Bryant Nelson had a season in Japan before he came back to play for Charlotte last season. I'd be interested to see the stats while he was playing over there.
