  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) And that's a wrap for me. This would be a pathetic effort in April. For it to be Septemeber and playing like this with what we have at stake? Inexcusable. And please greg, don't post some dumb article about how much passion Ozzie has because he yelled at the team and called them out for tonight's effort. Big deal. I could do the same thing. And to add on, please, no one compliment Davies. It don't want to be disgusted anymore than I have been.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) Nice hustle by Dye...turning a single into a double for Aviles. Pull the starters off the field. It's just funny how ALL these hits are seemingly finding their way to Griffey or Dye, who are turning them into XBH. No one is hitting it around Wise, who atleast has speed in the outfield. Seriously, how many hits this game have been hit to LF?
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) If the improbable happened and we choked this away, someone needs to lose their jobs. There is no reason what so ever that we lose this. Even with a loss tonight (2 1/2 game lead with 7, maybe 8, to play) even a mediocre team should maintain this lead. If we go 4-4 (Det makeup game included) Minnesota has to go 7-1. That's just a choke.
  4. Griffey actually showing some life moving at a moderate speed.
  5. Floyd isn't helping anything giving up jacks, but at this point, even if he were pitching a perfect game 0 runs from the offense doesn't win games.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) I think Tampa/Boston fans are praying they see us in the ALDS. No kidding. Davies dominating Seattle = Seattle laying down and getting their draft pick position solidified. Broadway may even defeat them if given a chance. Davies dominating White Sox = PATHETIC. I'm not giving him one ounce of credit. No "hat tipping" at all. This is Davies career game, and I don't even need to monitor him from this point on.
  7. This is f***ing ridiculous.
  8. Is Davies 6IP, 2H, 0ER good? No. His fastball is straight and his breaking ball is hanging half of the time. They're pressing against crap. It's embarrassing watching games like this when you KNOW Minnesota lost and you can put 3 1/2 games behind yourself and Minnesota. Are they obsessed with making that Minnesota series matter? After Yesterday I would have believed differently, but this is just bad.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) To think that DJ frequently says he's played GG caliber defense this season. Dye didn't even look at the ball when he jumped up against the wall. As if he thought "oh s***, I should be hitting the wall about now" and just looked away.
  10. This is just unacceptable from Floyd. You see Minnesota has lost, this late in the season, and you're giving up this crap? It has to be treated as a playoff game. Offense included. We should have atleast 4 runs on the board by the 6th inning, and if Floyd has any balls this is where it ends with the runs. Kc sucks.

  12. Great so far. Exactly how we should respond to knowledge of an ass whooping against Minnesota.
  13. September 16th......WTF? haha http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/schedule/i...;m=9&y=2008
  14. YES! We're out of grandslam range now, bring in the scrubs!
  15. If the White Sox can't defeat Kansas City tonight after looking on the scoreboard and noticing Minnesota is losing 6-0 then something is wrong. These are games we just can't lose. This is our chance to atleast put ground between ourselves and Twins before the series in Minneapolis.
  16. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) I have taken generic Propecia (Finpecia) before. I am not going to say exactly where I got it but it's made in India (most generics are) and I didn't go to a dermatologist to tell me what I already knew. Why did you quit taking it after 6 months? If it's because of lack of results, usually a year is the point to judge how it's impacting your hair.

http://www.broadcaster.com/video/player.php?clip=2574 Although I've had a few shots just now, by myself, I thought others who are more intoxicated may appreciate this ATHF episode. One of the funniest and strangest I've seen. "tonight..............you." "All I know is ball and good...........and rape."

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 02:29 AM) Just stayed up till 3:30 watching "Heat" for the hundredth time. I love 'Heat.' One of my favorite movies. Michael Mann's films typically have a surreal blend of music and atmosphere that has definied him as a director. Although 'Heat' is his greatest work, 'Manhunter' and 'Thief' and great in their own right if you're looking for similar movies. Two great songs featured on the soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVN9LEmvU7c (last minute is the portion featured within the film) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2q7cGKFFWM
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 03:05 AM) Not to mention the fact that we will miss Liriano, he's pitching on Sunday. We don't have the spectre of Santana/Liriano hanging over us....the "sure" defeats before we even started the games in terms of the team's mentality. No kidding. But wait, there's always Carlos Gomez! Who wouldn't want to build a team around him?! Remember he's "tough against us." Or how about Justin Morneau? We admire him so much that our pitching continually makes sure he bats in crucial spots with runners on base!
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 01:53 AM) The crazy thing is we swept Detroit and were up 3 in the loss column and we had life. Then we have no life. It's really bizarre. I've been wrong before, but I really truly am assuming 3 losses in the dome. I think the season is here in KC. If we lose all 3 we're out of gas, kaput, done. However will we turn it on and kick their ass? I have no clue. I believe we'll sweep Minnesota in Minnesota. This is entirely out of my character, but I've grown tired of this inevitable series lost to Minnesota more than a month prior to now.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 02:14 AM) Good question. You could say our veterans are choking or you could say it's baseball and they are just not producing for no particular reason. What gets me is we've been so predictable. I think a lot of us truly expected us to lose 3 of 4 or even all 4 to NY. I truly would expect us to win 2 of 3 in KC; but hey like fathom or somebody said with our bullpen and our inconsistent hitting literally anything can happen this weekend. We easily could lose all 3. Either Minnesota or the White Sox go on a three game win streak and it's over. I'm not making excuses if they fail to hold onto a 1 1/2 game lead this late in the season. It's entirely in their hands. I don't care if Quentin is gone and the bullpen is the suxors. If f***ing Kansas City can win seven in a row I'm sure any team, even the Charlotte Knights, can hold this lead this late in the season. What'd I like to see more from the Sox is some confidence. Don't say "I guarantee we're winning the division" but say "I have confidence in our team to do well in Minnesota." If I hear one f***ING person among Hawk/DJ, Guillen, Williams begin this defeatist attitude of giving up those three games before we've played I will have had enough of them this season. We've been over this countless times. I'd rather be overly confident and have our players think less of Minnesota (as we seemingly did every year prior to 05), then this ball licking of Lord Gardenhire and his team.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) Like Poreda, except with better stuff. And a legitimate secondary pitch.
  23. QUOTE (3E8 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) No I was sincere. I either read or saw that stem cell researchers at an ivy league school accidentally discovered how to regrow hair in follicles which weren't producing anymore. It grew back with no color, but that's easy to hide. They said a marketable product would be available relatively soon. Have you already heard of this story and believe it to be bogus? We're thinking of the same product, Follica. It just came to me after reading your post. After doing some quick research it seems they're currently undergoing human trials. Here is some information I extracted from their website: http://www.follicabio.com/news/follica-ann...panded-team-40/ 'Stimulating entirely new follicles' is an item I overlooked in the past when reading about Follica. It'd obviously be significant because treatments available today grow hair, but it often has a different appearance/structure than healthy hair. Also, these new hairs undergo accelerated shedding stages and are very dependent on treatment. It sounds promising, and since it is expected to be released within the next several years it's at least something to look forward to. I'm sure the prices will be f***ing ridiculous, too. If the trials show half of what is promised they can set their price and people will buy it regardless.

  25. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) I had always thought I would eventually do the hair transplant thing, but then I found out how expensive they were and how extremely painful they are to get, and I realized I was no where near vain enough to go through all of that. The downtime for a transplant is ridiculous. You literally have to put a hold on life for two months while your scalp heals and the treated hair begins to grow back. Hair transplants have come a ways in ten years, more than traditional treatments, but it still isn't to the point where ordinary people can walk in, have non-DHT effected hair placed on balding spots, then go home without any problems. I'd really hate to have a hair transplant done now only to have a more efficient, better looking alternative come out five years from now. Patience is the key. At the least, Rogaine/Propecia/Nizoral can help delay balding a good 7-8 years -- and the key is just holding off the inevitable until a better treatment comes along.
