Geraldo is f***ing insane. I'm watching Fox News' coverage of the Hurricane, and he had a report from directly underneath one of the levees. There he is, while the water is crashing over. If it were to break, both him and his cameramen wouldn't have fared very well. And really, for what? A closeup view of the levee? haha.

Anyone who dies in that city from this storm will not have my sympathy. You may have been unprepared for Katrina, and FEMA certaintly didn't help, but everyone in New Orleans is given plenty of warning for Gustav. Get on the damn bus this time or attempt walking to higher ground. Atleast people in Florida are accustomed to hurricanes and typically have the supplies to cope with them if they remain. Now, even those crusty old "I'm aint gonna leave my town!!!" people should learn from the death of several thousand people three years ago.

There was game we'd play in junior high, several times in the summer, that was quite the thrill. We'd go to the baseball fields with a driver and a set of golf balls. Near home plate, where the area had loose mud, we'd set the tee and smack the s*** out of golfballs. It was sort of like a home run derby to see the distance and things we would hit. The ultimate prize was beyond RF, 500+ft away from homeplate -- the local pool. No one could hit the pool in one swing, though; but we're sure a few bounced in. No one was at the pool during these times, of course. What made it even more ridiculous is the Police Heights police station is literally on the same land, several blocks away. The first time we did this, even with full knowledge of the department's location, the cops chased us. There was only one access point for drivers (the pool) so we were able to react quickly and leave. This happened several more times, until one occasion (the last we did this) they come from two directions. The other direction being along the bikepath we'd usually take when leaving. We had to cut through peoples backyards on our bikes while they were chasing us on foot/vehicle. Looking back now it's funny, but I know I was scared to death when it was happening.

I'm impressed with Palin. I've never heard her speak before today, and judging from her pictures I expected some soft spoken type. I don't believe she'll be "eaten alive" as much by Biden as seemingly everyone across every political blog I'm browsing through seems to believe. I could definitely envision SOME undecided women (obviously can't predict the percentages) coming over to McCain.

I'll say this -- just from this moment McCain and Palin don't seem to have good chemistry. It's just odd looking at them standing next to each other. Like two people who have never met one another.

Look at McCain at his convention hall in Ohio. He's like a celebrity!! He's losing more votes playing this terrible Van Halen song than Palin could ever account for.

McCain/Romne or McCain/Palin nothing changes. This is what his strategists are thinking, obviously. Inexperience angle obviously doesn't mean much to voters. These people know what they're doing. My second cousin worked for Clinton (I don't recall his exact title), and if you weren't aware these decisions aren't made lightly. They devote countless hours into analyzing battleground areas and their demographics, how strong the support for Hillary was within these areas, and whether undecided voters may change their vote on the basis of Palin's VP nomination. I still have a belief McCain is going to win, though. I was utterly shocked to hear a few days ago how close the overall numbers were. Even with the overnight shift with Obama now taking the lead, if you listen to the media and their love affair with Obama you'd believe the separation would be greater.
