2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) Anyone else watch "Extreme Couponers" on TLC? Two things I've noticed about the people on the show. One, they have extreme OCD over coupons and keeping a constant supply of groceries in their house. Two, they don't have jobs. Mostly because they spend so much time on their coupons and shopping. I can't imagine spending that many hours each day cutting coupons and then going to the store 3 and 4 times a week for hours at a time. My wife and I use coupons but the most I think we saved on one shopping trip was around $60. We still usually end up spending $200+ for 2 weeks of groceries. These people are buying $600+ worth of groceries and paying like $10. They must have better grocery stores and better coupons. Funny you brought this up, we just watched this show last night. We thought it was just a variation of hoarders. Also, I have NEVER heard of double/triple coupons.

Not a great feeling about the KC series...
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) KC is still KC they will come back to earth against the Sox. They won one series, that's not a big deal. This thread is absurd.

Pre-Internet Habits
I was going to post the same thing you did, including when they would break for commercials and you would miss the score because the ticker wouldn't stop. CLTV for me though. -Having to buy video game strategy guides.

2011 Video Game Catch-All Thread
WWE all stars is just good fun. If you liked the N64 wrestling games (wrestlemania 2000, no mercy) this is right up your alley. I haven't watched wrestling in at least 10 years and am having a blast with it. The first stone cold stunner I pulled off was one of the most satisfying moments in recent memory.

*Official* Work Out Thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) So for the next 5 weeks(until May 2nd) I've decided that I'm going to completely give up partying(drinking, going out, drunk meals) and 100 percent focus on my nutrition/exercise program to get me to exactly where I want to be. I'm going to allow myself to eat a slice or two of pizza once a week but besides that, it'll be completely healthy eating. I've figured I've come this far so I might as well go all out to reach my ultimate goal. And for the people that know me, giving up partying for a week let alone 5 is pretty difficult for me. Going to be real tough but I got everything set up and I'm going to get this done. just wait till that grilled onions smell hits you.....

Job Hunt Thread
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) Is it too early to apply for jobs now if I graduate in may? Will companies even read past that part on my resume or cover letter? I'm not getting as much interest as I thought i'd get... Not trying to sound cocky. no way, the goal is to have a job lined up before graduation. I had my offer in the first semester of my senior year.

Schaumburg Flyers evicted from Alexian Field
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 7, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) Think of a family of four. How much to go to a Sox game? $100-200? How much for the minor league Sox affiliate that the 10 yo's will still get excited to see, and maybe the big Sox fan parents can get into watching the up-and-comers? ^ this. I worked w/ the Kane County Cougars for awhile and was told there would never be another affiliated team in the chicagoland area. The sox/cubs (Most likely just the sox) said they would pull their teams out of the respective leagues if that happened. The sox would absolutely lose alot of their family sales if that happened. That would happen now too if Geneva wasn't practically in Iowa.

2010 Federal Tax returns
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) Refund showed up in my account on Friday. I know I'm just giving the government an "interest-free loan" every year, but if I had the extra hundred bucks every month I would just spend it on god knows what. This way, its like I get a huge bonus every Feburary to spend on whatever I want, like a toy for my new backyard. this. While it doesn't make financial sense to be excited for a refund, I definitely always am. It doesn't hurt that it comes during the most depressing time of the year either.

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) My wife and I do the same thing. No cable, OTA HD (rabbit ears work fine for us in la grange), netflix and hulu plus and then any series we want to watch we just buy through the ps3. I miss watching White Sox/Bulls games on comcast but that's about it. Certainly better than spending 100 bucks or more a month on a cable package. so you pretty much don't watch the white sox? I could absolutely get rid of cable if it weren't for sports....

2011 Spring Training thread
Do you need to buy tickets beforehand? I'll be over there March 10th - 15th. I assume the cubs/sox game might sell out, but what's the ticket situation for the other games? I figured we could save on ticketmaster fees if it's not needed.
