  1. Sign Wheeler 5/$95M Trade Sheets for David Peralta Sign Alex Wood 1/$7M Sign Josh Lindbloom 2/$8M Sign Derek Dietrich 1/$3M Go to battle.
  2. Not sure any one addition would “win this division hands down”.
  3. Fair, I just play in 5-6 yahoo leagues For baseball and also use for all other fantasy sports so I am definitely not adding a league in another platform. If it ends up on something else, no biggie, I’ll just pass.
  4. Agreed. I could potentially be interested depending on $ and structure. Already play in several though and married to yahoo so wouldn’t do any other formats.
  5. I think as we stand today without Yolmer, the correct figure is somewhere in the $81-83 range including arb eligible players. Should be plenty left to spend. $40M of it will be two SP and RF, if I had to guess. The rest will be on the cheap.
  6. Yah, I mean I'd vastly prefer David Peralta who should be only slightly more expensive than what you suggested for Pillar. But I hear ya.
  7. Exactly. Doesn't take much to convince to replace Engel with Pillar. Pillar would be a great 4th OF, but pretty gross as everyday RF. But yah, doesn't seem like best way to spend that $15M.
  8. I'd be surprised if Profar actually got non-tendered, but if he did he would fit on just about any team. Would like that move. Pillar would be pretty gross as the everyday RF, though he would make the OF defense much improved.
  9. I was having issues accessing. I downloaded Google Chrome as other suggested, and that worked. Still doens't work on internet explorer which is my preferred browser on my phone.
  10. Not surprising, but disappointing. Expect it to be quite expensive if you want to get in.
  11. Anyone know when tickets will be available for this?
  12. Am I the only person who still can't get Soxtalk on their phone? Heading out of town for a few days without a laptop, would be nice to be able to access the site.
  13. I think the Twins could be potentially be interested. Could play any of the IF positions for them. Sano likely going to move to 1B, Polanco is not a good SS and Arraez is not an everyday 2B defensively. Gets a tad crowded with Gonzalez, but I could see a fit there.
  14. That's just not how things work though. When a guy on a 40 man is officially DFA, it is nationally reported. Not saying all the major guys report every DFA, but it at least gets put on MLBTR. Pretty obvious, IMO, that is move hasn't officially occurred but they've informed Burr they plan to DFA him upon his roster spot being needed.
  15. Complete sense, and that is basically what I am getting at. Really only thing that makes sense at this point.
  16. Can someone update the thread title? Yolmer was never non-tendered - he was placed on waivers - and he is now a FA.
  17. Ya, I mean I guess now is as good as anytime to slide him through waivers, but almost feel like right after the rule 5 would be better. Just curious as you mentioned. Do you know for sure that Burr has actually formally been DFA'd and we should soon be getting the news on whether or not he cleared within a day, or if its possible this is more of a "White Sox plan to DFA Ryan Burr when the roster spot is needed" situation? To be clear, I am not insinuating at all that I think FS got bad info - I fully expect him to get DFA as this point - I just feel like we'd at least have a mention or two from national media guys / posted to MLBTR, etc if the transaction had formally occurred.
  18. Curious - why would the Sox DFA a guy like Burr when they didn't need to? Can do that at any point in the offseason. Furthermore, why are they waiting several days to announce it? This isn't typical IMO.
  19. I feel like I read somewhere recently that when a player in placed on outright waivers in the offseason, the opposite league gets first dibs. Is that accurate? Seems like a strange rule to flipflop in the offseason, and cannot see to locate anything confirming or denying that. I may have read it here. If he has to clear the AL first, I'd be a tad surprised if he made it to the Reds.
  20. I hear ya. I don't expect you to change - you do you. As I said in my post, I am genuinely curious if you believed that most posters find the bit funny. That is it.
  21. I am with ya 100%. Not campaigning to pass on Wheeler by any means. Just pointing out that handing him 5/$110M+ is quite a commitment that definitely could backfire.
  22. Yah, I mean $10M is a bit rich for a team like the O's that will likely be tanking again. But yah, Villar is a good player.
  23. Projected $10.4M price tag for 2020. Wouldn't be shocked to see a team in need of a MI rolling the dice.
  24. I don't like the years for the Sox in particular. Sox don't need Gibson for 3 years. But I guess I wouldn't have hated it. Hard to get too upset about getting a solid backend vet who has been very good at times for $10M AAV.
  25. It does, however, remain a very steep price to pay for a good not great SP. Wheeler is a legit risk. A risk the Sox pretty much have to take if they're serious, but you're getting awfully close to that range where you may as well just pay up a bit more for Strasburg.
