  1. 5/$140 for Strasburg seems like a serious bargain.
  2. Zero percent chance Marshall is non tendered. I would non tender Osich for sure. Yolmer I actually think signs a cheap 2 year deal around $7M to stay. Goins is probably gone.
  3. Assuming Abreu is in this mix, I think I would be pretty pleased with this offseason. Would prefer trading for LH RF better than Calhoun, but that would be my only true gripe.
  4. The Twins have 1 major league SP under control next season. they have a LOT of work to do this offseason.
  5. Yah, definitely not a perfect solution. Frankly there aren’t many.
  6. Maybe if we sign say Ozuna in RF and Strasburg as a SP, a cheaper DH alternative like Moustakas who can also be deployed around the IF wouldn't be a terrible option.
  7. Yah, definitely like Moose as a fit depending on what direction we go in RF.
  8. Assuming the contract of an average player making ~$85M over the next 4 seasons isn't exactly a wise use of the White Sox resources and financial flexibility.
  9. Yah, I don't know. Sox are extremely right handed. Lineup balance is important. Obviously I'd rather get JD Martinez and Marcell Ozuna over Dickerson and Calhoun, but all things being equal, Sox really need another strong LH bat to complement all the righties. Another reason why Grandal would be a great fit.
  10. Eaton won't be a FA. And yes. The options suck. I vote for a trade, but I guess one of Calhoun/Gardner/Dickerson/Gordon on a 1 year deal wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if legitimate money is invested in a DH, a top of rotation SP and another decent backend SP.
  11. All the righties! JD would be fine if Abreu takes the QO or signs at max a 2 year deal. A lefty RF becomes an absolute must in that scenario tho.
  12. I too would love Ryu. He won't give you 200 innings, but he is super good when he is out there. I think the expectation is that he is going to stay in LA, or at the very least the west coast. But he would be a fantastic get, and at his age, and little shorter commitment. Something like 3/60 could probably get it done, maybe even a tad less.
  13. I bet he would if it paid him the most money. But ya, Rendon is a 3B and the comment I made was mostly in jest as I literally said in the post he’s not signing with the Sox.
  14. Grandal + Wheeler would be a fantastic start. Trade for Nimmo and sign a backend lefty option and I would be tickled with that offseason.
  15. I don't think I would really be categorized as either of those "kinds of Sox fans". I didn't grow up in Chicago, so I don't have the hate for the Cubs most Sox fans have. But I also don't follow the Cubs as much as some Sox fans may, which leads to alot of posters (and likely Sox fans in general) suggesting acquiring Cubs players like.....multiple times per day on here. Q would be a great fit. I believe you and I have already discussed him in another thread so I won't rehash that, but he isn't going to be a FA. Schwarber would be fine DH addition, but he only has 2 years of control, meh on base numbers and has struggles to hit his weight. If he were a FA he'd a decent DH option. Heyward would be a fine as cheap 1 year stop gap in RF, but he has 4 years and $86M left on his deal! There is absolutely no reason why the Sox should blow a bunch of the flexibility they've worked so hard to get to acquire an average player getting paid like a star.
  16. If you could get him on like a 2 years $8M deal, I'd be for it. Whats the harm? If he sucks, you just send him to Charlotte or cut him. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I wouldn't hate this as another bench/backup options to a guy like Calhoun/Dickerson if that is the route the Sox go. I'd rather not be one injury away from Palka/Cordell again,
  17. Unless the Cub are paydown Heyward's deal to around $10M per, no chance in hell am I doing that deal. FWIW, that would mean that Cubs would be sending $45M with. We don't need to be taking on the Cubs trash.
  18. Yah, I mean the Cubs may very well trade him. But they aren't going to buy him out of his contract for a net cost of $10M.
  19. Can we close this train wreck thread?
  20. Thanks for the insight. $4-6M AAV I assume?
  21. Q is no going to be a FA. How is this still being discussed.
