  1. Is Rutschman considered a plus defender?
  2. Did anyone see if Ricky made any postgame comments to any of the beat guys on his logic to leave Lopez out there in the 6th inning last night? Was a pretty indefensible move, so I assume he was asked. I wasn't able to find anything on twitter. If you saw anything, please post.
  3. I like Leury alot. Said as much earlier this thread. But he has a career OBP below .290, and has struggled to stay healthy for any stretch of time. Handing him $30M is insane. I have no problem keeping him around if he want to sign like 4 year $12-15M extension in the offseason, but anything more than that for him crazy talk IMO. He won't be anywhere near $7.5M in his final year of arb, which is the AAV you're suggesting. He is making $1.5M this season.
  4. Starting with 3 of 4 from Cleveland would be huge. Don't love our chances the next two nights, though. The Covey-Banuelos stack is an eye sore.
  5. Woah. Leury would sign that so fast his head would spin. That is a crazy offer.
  6. Keep running him out there until we have better options. That certainly won’t happen in 2019. If we can get 2018 Lopez, he’s perfectly serviceable as our 5 starter moving forward. He’s capable of more, and hopefully someday it’ll click to the point he can show some consistency.
  7. Do you really want the Sox offering Keuchel the most money? If the most money is 3/$40M like I said. Sure, I'd be cool with that. But like a 4 year $70-75M type deal would not end well. Not to mention 1/3 of this season is gone, and at least 1/2 will be gone by the time he's able to actually pitch. He's going to need a few weeks in the minors at least. I am not against Keuchel, but it all depends on where the bidding ends up. Tough to handicap right now. Also if he just wants a 1 year deal, it makes no sense for the Sox.
  8. This doesn't really answer your question, but Leury will be in interesting case this July if he stays healthy and continues to play well. He is a free agent following 2020, so has 1.5 years of control. He is pretty much the perfect utility guy when healthy, and obviously is a nice luxury for the Sox because they don't have a bevy of playable CF options. But he's also been an injury waiting to happen his whole career, and chances of him actually staying on the field over 80% of the games the next year and half are slim. Guessing trade offers for him wouldn't be all that exciting and in which case the Sox should keep him. But if some team really wants him and wants to give up a nice return for a super cheap jack of a trades player in Garcia, I'd definitely move him in the next 60 days.
  9. Keuchel is going to have a list of suitors in a few days. Why would he pick the Sox? If the Sox can get him on like a 3 year $40M deal (including this year), sure I'd do it. But I am guessing he'll have more attractive offers from teams that are contending this season.
  10. The Sox are not signing Kimbrel who will have a list off suitors a week from now.
  11. He’ll be right there in the clean up spot tomorrow night tho!
  12. Why is Reylo still in this game??? He should have come out after the DP.
  13. At this point, it has to be that. Like why continue to run him out there in the 4th spot? Alonso himself has to think its a sick joke at this point.
  14. Right, but it doesn't matter if he gets drafted before the Sox 2nd round pick (obviously).
  15. Is there some talk that he'll be a tough sign? A few mocks I looked at (and they could have been dated) had Hinds as a 1st rounder.
  16. Yah, meant to delete Bush.
  17. Is he really going to fall that far?
  18. None of those guys have played at all this year. Sox just waiting for the rookie league to start to assign them, I would assume?
  19. This is completely false. He hasn't even been added to the 40 man yet (will need to be added this December). He has all sorts of time to come back from this.
  20. Let's strive mightily to sweep the series.
  21. This place is going to burn to the ground if the Sox take him.
  22. IF you're gonna start him in Chicago in 2020, may as well just get him up here in August this year, no?
  23. I am sure this has been opined to here several times, but if the Orioles or Royals make a surprise pick and Rutschmann or Witt fall to the Sox, the expectation is the Sox would take whichever of those guys fell, correct?
  24. I had that part figured out. Who are Miami and Detroit targeting?
  25. For someone that follows the draft more than I, why would Abrams fall to 6th if the Sox don't take him? Why would Miami or Detroit pass on him?
