Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Giolito, Robles, Fedde, Lopez, Severino and Kieboom for Sale and Robertson work? I mention Robertson because it looks like the Nats are gonna lose Melancon to the Giants and would be in need of a closer. Not a bad package by any means, and may end up being the best we can get, but just wish it was mainly position players. I have faith in the Sox developing pitching...we need bats!

Which prospect would you want the Sox to acquire and why?
Need one of them for a deal. Really have no issues with any of them - my list would probably be Benintendi, Bregman, Moncada, Urias, Turner, Swanson. But it is the other players involved that will make or break this trade.

Rich hill signs with Dodgers
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 09:37 PM) I would think. But assuming we do end up moving Sale, it could be a blessing in disguise. LA's best prospects are pitchers, and Friedman is there -- the stingiest of the stingy when it comes to prospects, and who seems to never "lose" a trade of this type. To be fair, there haven't been many trades involving a guy with Sales value. That said, can't see a deal withour Urias, and dount Friedman is willing to deal him.

Rich hill signs with Dodgers
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) Good luck next season if they don't trade Sale while essentially sitting out the entire offseason. They won't be able to give away tickets to watch Garcia get another 600 at-bats at DH. Patience, brah.

So they have: Kershaw Ryu Kazmir Maeda Hill Urias De Leon McCarthy And others. Crazy. Obviously a lot of injury question marks there but still a lot of options.

Winter Meetings Predictions Thread
QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) I like these ideas, I think we can get more for Abreu tho. Also, in a wishful perfect world, Eaton to NAT for a loaded package Agreed - that Abreu to BOS package was garbage. No point in trading Jose for that.

PIT/NATs in talks for McCutchen
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Who says no? Nats get: Eaton and Jennings Sox get: Giolito, Robles, Fedde, Reetz Edit: I'm saying the Nats say no Probably the Nats, but I'd do that deal. Would like Severino as the final piece.

White Sox to Move Eaton?
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) I guess the thing about Eaton to Washington is that they're looking for a CF. Could Eaton do that, or is he better in RF? He can, but he is definitely a much better RF.

White Sox to Move Eaton?
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) Jesus those are gigantic packages haha. Sale is an amazing talent, but those packages are what would get a GM fired. Adam Eaton is my favorite player on the Sox, but if you can get Giolito, Robles plus another interesting piece or two, it'd be hard not to do. Then turn around and trade Sale to the Astros. It's intriguing for sure - but Giolito and Robles are necessary.

White Sox to Move Eaton?
This. Morosi is an idiot.

PIT/NATs in talks for McCutchen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) That was the appropriate response. It would be a terrible move for the White Sox. But if people want to insist they're going to compete right now, then at least look at what it would really take. If that's what PIttsburgh can get for a washed up McCutchen, the Sox are in some serious business here.

PIT/NATs in talks for McCutchen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) I bet Collins + Fulmer + Adams + Burdi puts you in the ballpark. If they're talking about Robles he's a top 10 guy and the White Sox have nothing close to that, but if you piled up 2 top 100 guys plus another first round pick from last year you at least aren't laughably far away. Nats could probably still beat that. I just puked in my mouth.

Milwaukee signs Eric Thames
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) Carter would be a decent pickup for this team if they are rebuilding, sign him on a short term deal and flip for a prospect at the deadline for a team that needs some RH power. Agreed.

Milwaukee signs Eric Thames
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) His K and BB numbers were pretty good in Korea, although that league is much easier to hit in. I still wish the Sox would've taken a chance on him though. He's the exact type of player that would be great in a rebuild. Is it? I'd rather give Liriano, Avi or Coats those ABs if we're going full rebuild (doubt that'll happen).

White Sox waiting for bigger offers on Sale
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) MLB Trade Rumors @mlbtraderumors 2h2 hours ago Twins Hire Torii Hunter, Michael Cuddyer, LaTroy Hawkins As Special Assistants http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/11/twins-hire-torii-hunter-michael-cuddyer-latroy-hawkins-as-special-assistants.html …://http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/...sistants.html …://http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/...sistants.html … Good. I've said it before and I will say it again, Sox hold the chips here. Get what you want or don't trade him. I don't want some garbage deal that doesn't include multiple headliners. The Sox need to win this trade massively - the future of the franchise relies on it.

SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) Screw it, if they want to rebuild on the fly and not do a total overhaul, why not try for Bregman AND Springer, maybe someone like Daz Cameron as a third piece.... I'd be perfectly ok with that deal. May not live up to people's standards or expectations, but I'd be very excited to watch the Sox next year. I have a feeling if we deal with HOU, we end up with Springer. Been saying it all along and just have a gut feeling. There were rumors from connected insiders that the Astros offered a Springer based package for Same in July, which the Sox obviously passed on. Doubt a few months will change their mind. Bregman is the guy, though I am intrigued by your idea of both.

Anthony Ranaundo signs in Korea
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 11:16 PM) When your depth doesn't get picked up by anyone in the big leagues and winds up in korea, you don't actually have depth. Again, I said not really a loss. The dudes close to doubling his salary, can you really blame him? And every other team didn't have the chance to get him, Sox released him so he could pursue this opportunity. It's not like he cleared waivers beforehand.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) Good. Don't want him anywhere near the organization. Mark Lol, such a typical comment from you. Ranaudo is nothing special, this isn't really a loss, but you continue to fail to recognize that depth is your friend.

How would you feel emotionally if/when Sale is traded?
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) You think Sale's value can get higher? Probably not, but maybe. I just think Q has a higher probability of falling off a cliff and becoming a mediocre pitcher. There is no way Sale does that without significant injury. If Sale goes out and wins the CY young next year (definite possibility), I don't think his value takes much hit this year to next, and maybe even improves a bit. But its definitely not going to improve much. The comment wasn't really meant as a comparison between the two, but rather that I think there is a possibility we'd be selling high on Q.
