  1. Not what this thread is about so you wanted the Sox to go all in on 2024 because they couldn’t pick higher than 10 in 2025? The team needed to undergo a rebuild in the worst way after the TLR failure and 2024. I’m glad they didn’t delay the process and are actually doing it. I do wish they went into 2024 with a new manager but here we are. The brand is fine, all will be well as they get better.
  2. I think the “silence” surrounding the Sox is a good thing. Shows that they’re actually undergoing a process for this hire. I imagine we’ll hear more news after the LCS’s
  3. I’m of the opinion that records don’t matter for rebuilding teams. And this was a team that was always going to be worse than 2023’s. I think too many people are caught up on something that ultimately doesn’t matter.
  4. See Brandon Hyde
  5. Crochet to Cleaveland for Travis Bazzana, Ralphy Velazquez, Jaison Chourio, and a pick. Who says no?
  6. I wish MLB covered their hiring processes like NFL teams do. When an NFL team interviews a candidate for GM/HC, it’s always reported on by the team. I wish MLB had that transparency
  7. They’re firing more scouts. I wonder how many they’ve fired total
  8. They’re doing some house cleaning
  9. Can’t imagine spending $14M on Vaughn, Sheets and Lopez. That would be a horrible use of resources
  10. This doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things
  11. The Sox could’ve drafted this guy in 2019 but they took Vaughn
  12. (Delete)
  13. If anything it would speak to Grady’s ability
  14. He’d be a terrible fit to work above anyone. He’s a good #2, he shouldn’t be in charge of any org. The Giants drafted poorly under him, their FA signings didn’t work out, and he couldn’t land the big fish despite having an owner willing to sign the big checks. He should’ve been fired last year but he hired Kapler to save himself.
  15. Carlos Beltran listed as potential fit by Nightengale
  16. What goof? ****** I hope he takes questions from reporters but this a good statement and surprisingly humbling and reflective from Jerry. It sounds like he’s aware of his failing as owner and wants to correct them. I wonder if this means a director of analytics is coming to the org?
  17. I’m a fan of Vargas because he sees a ton of pitches. They need more guys like that.
  18. Sizemore is still under contract for next season. If he’s not in the dugout as a coach, he’ll probably be in the front office. He’s someone the Sox should keep around based on how he got the team to play hard during the second half.
  19. I’m not going to hold Getz accountable for what Jerry said. It’s clear and it’s been clear for a while that somehow Getz was able to sell Jerry his vision of a complete tear down, rebuild and overhaul of the org. This is not the same as 2016. I do wonder what the reception around the Sox would be if Getz came out and said from his initial press conference that this is a rebuild, I think it’s slightly better
  20. Frangraphs wrote a list about available managerial candidates https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-of-the-order-a-list-of-some-potential-managerial-candidates/ Im really hoping for one of the up and comers, get a young manager who can grow with the team. The Sox should be looking for their version of Brandon Hyde.
  21. I imagine there’s more FO hires coming and there will be a press conference/conference call to touch on all of them.
  22. I feel like every Sox fan should be rooting for the team to be the worst team in the league again, because they can actually nab the top pick in 2026.
  23. While a lot of the top players are probably already signed for the next couple of years, I think the department can be turned around quickly, especially once the new complex is finished being constructed as they'll be forced to sign more players to fill complex, more bites at the apple. But the Orioles spent the fewest money on INTL players before Elias came and they were able to turn that around pretty quickly. I think the first player they signed was Samuel Basallo
  24. So he’s running the department and yet, they’re going to hire a director for the department?
