  1. I don’t care as long as he stay healthy and reaches his innings goal. That’s the biggest priority, the other stuff can be fixed.
  2. It was way past time to move on from Paddy. It’s going to take a couple years to see Getz/Keller guys come in but damn, that’s dreadful
  3. I like how active this FO office when it comes to adding depth and mixing up the bottom of the roster. A rebuilding team should totally be doing this but I hope it continues when they’re competitive as well. I have no problem with them taking a flyer on Houser. They need someone who can come in and eat innings to save the bullpen.
  4. If LaViolette is the pick, then I assume that Ryan Fuller signed off on it, the same way Bannister signs off on every pitcher the Sox draft. So your excitement on LaViolette depends on how much you trust Fuller to iron out his swing. LaViolette does check some major boxes for the Sox though. He’s an OF, he’s athletic, and he has some serious power (as a lefty too), which is the system’s biggest need.
  5. I really like Venable and this coaching staff, they have the guys ready to play. Their plate discipline is night and day from last season, the defense looks a lot better too. Venable has done some things that I didn't like in the moment, but he's a first time manager, and so far I'm pleased
  6. I hope they don’t draft LaViolette. Personally, I am against drafting players with players with below average hit tools with first round picks. The player would have to have 70+ power to make me consider it.
  7. The metrics say, yes he does. And it’s not entirely uncommon to give a guy a phantom IL stint so they can work on something. It happens more with pitchers, the Dodgers do it a lot, but it’s not like it doesn’t happen. I’m not saying demote him to AZL ball.
  8. it's just as bad imo. Less valuable player to the org, but why not make sure all your assets are performing up to the org's standards
  9. I don’t know where else to put this but do you know who else should be headed to Arizona to work with Ryan Fuller for a couple of weeks? Brooks Baldwin. I think he’s a fun guy, and can be a positive player for the Sox as a super utility guy but the offensive profile right now is dangerously bad. He only walks 4% of the time, league average is 8.4% so far this year. He hits the ball on the ground nearly 50% of the time at 47.1%. He has a launch angle of 12.3 degrees, which is well below league average of 20 degrees, and well below the desired sweet spot of 30 degrees. His launch angle is also down about 13.4 degrees. He doesn’t see a lot of pitches, he doesn’t take his walks, he hits the ball into the ground way too much. He needs to overhaul his swing
  10. When’s the last time the Sox walked 6 times?
  11. I wish the Sox had multiple Ryan Fuller’s
  12. This brought a smile to my face
  13. Why would it be a bad thing?
  14. Me too. They could’ve augmented their roster with vets and more proven young players and they said no. They overvalued their core. And their successful hitting coach, now running the Sox hitting program
  15. The 2016 rebuild didn’t fail because the Sox didn’t sign Machado or Harper. It failed because they drafted so poorly. Spending a top 5 pick on a weak singles hitter is so so so so dumb. Meidroth is a breath of fresh air, and it fits a theme. The new regime has been targeting hitters who’ve shown the ability to get on base consistently. Would like to see Meidroth, Vargas and Tauchman in the same lineup
  16. Meidroth seems like the type of the player the previous regime was seemingly allergic to. He can play multiple positions, he sees a ton of pitches, and he gets on base at a high clip. He’s the type of player the Sox have been missing for a long time. Hahn/KW wouldn’t even sign bench/UTL guys like that in FA. Edit: Spelling
  17. I’d rather see so many other people out there at 1B
  18. Meidroth batting 7th is crazy. Should be batting 9th, 1st or 2nd
  19. It’s a very good flex. This is hopefully something that takes hold throughout the org and becomes a trend. Imagine this stat with good players.
  20. To be fair, they didn’t draft him or Gonzalez. That 2023 first round pick really could’ve accelerated this rebuild.

  22. The graphics on the channel aren’t bad at all. I just they spent some money on the app and fixed the interface, it’s unusable.
  23. It was a good idea just didn’t work out
  24. I’m curious to see the moves that they make going forward (starting from this just recent offseason) with more of Getz’s people are in place. There’s Ryan Fuller and there’s the new analysts in the organization
