Getz made a major blunder during the intro press conference where he tied himself to Grifol. He could’ve and should’ve said that Grifol was under review and that a decision would be made after the season, regardless if he planned on keeping him or not but he went out of his way to tie himself to Grifol. So these losses are tied to Getz. Grifol after all is his handpicked manager because Getz said what he said, these loses are a reflection of him and not Grifol because he endorsed this. If Getz is smart, he has to see what’s transpiring on the field and fire Grifol as soon as the season is over. The team is horrendous baseball. They have no effort. And Grifol is doing nothing to optimize the talent on roster in the interim or long term. One of the worst managerial jobs I’ve seen in sometime.

Need the team to get embarrassed like that the rest of the way, that might be our only hope of Grifol not coming back.

I was shocked that JR was so candid about that. And in typically Sox fashion, they removed him as Scouting Director but put him in charge of pro scouting.

It’s such a bad environment for pitchers.

Of course I hate that they didn’t go outside the org or conduct a real search but I hate that Getz and Grifol get to keep their jobs or be promoted. They’re survivalist and ass kissers. I know AJ said on his show that whenever he was doing a Sox game he would see Getz sitting with Jerry, talking into his ear. And whenever Grifol is asked a question, he speaks directly to Jerry with his answers, saying things that would appeal to him. They’re scum.

One day we will all die and be ridden of our allegiance to this team.

I’d be shocked if it’s Getz or someone from the inside, it would’ve been announced already and more of the big reporters would’ve reported something by now on it happening. It sounds like JR knew he was going to fire KW and Hahn for a little while and kept that radio silent. The silent things are, the more it looks like he’s going outside the org. Plus Moore had said that the Sox haven’t reached out to him.

I would love it if the team hired a Baseball President and a GM to work under that person. I would be very down for James Click as President and someone like Preston Mattingly as GM.

What has Getz accomplished? What has Dayton Moore accomplished? And Tony La Russa should be nowhere near the organization. This is pitiful. An out of touch drunk, someone who’s achieved nothing but went out of his way to hire two abusers, and a man who went out his way to defend a pedophile and turned his org into an alt right cesspool. JR is somehow putting the team in a worse position.

I’m glad the team has cut ties with them but I hope Kenny Williams does stay involved with baseball. If MLB wants to make more of an effort trying to increase black engagement with the sport, Kenny Williams should lead that.

If this is genuine… I applaud that JR is doing something to fix the problem but why is he leading this process? It would be better if he had hired an independent party to conduct this process. People will be afraid to be candid when they’re talking JR because he’s the owner. If JR was smart, he would formed an independent committee (like the Bears did) to review the entire org and the performance of the FO.
