Opening Day Angels/Sox 3/27...
I like these at bats today.

2025 Things to be Excited About List
Didn’t finish my thought: I’m excited to see the impact it has at guys at the ML level but really to see how it affects the development of guys like Wolkow, Zavala, and Bonemer. The bats in the system do leave a lot to be desired, not a lot of high ceiling guys, but there’s some interesting clay to be molded. It seems like Getz and Shirley are targeting guys with OBP skills in the draft and trades which is a good place to start, and a welcome change from the last regime

2025 Things to be Excited About List
I’m excited to see Ryan Fuller and how the position players perform at the plate during his tenure here. Brain Bannister’s impact was immediate but I think hitting is much harder than pitching.

Shane Smith has taken over as story of spring
I'm sure McKivin played a part in getting Smith over but this is encouraging because for years, the Sox biggest weakness has been pro scouting. Smith becoming a contributing member of the team would be a nice win for the new regime.

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
But Jacob Lombard is related to George Lombard and George Lombard Jr.

Benintendi out 4-6 weeks with right hand fracture
No it hasn’t, he’ll have two months at least to show he’s fully healthy

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
The two highly coveted players in this draft class are prep shortstops, Jacob Lombard and Grady Emerson. Baseball America did a podcast about them. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/baseball-america/id201539011?i=1000674421112

Rays even manage to outpayroll Sox now with HaSeong Kim deal
Why are we complaining about the Sox having a low payroll. They’re trying to suck, they should have a low payroll.

Sox development staff breakdown...
I don’t buy the notion that your AAA is you Mr manager in waiting. That’s not good imo and wasn’t everyone on this board ragging the Sox for being too insular?

2025 MLB Draft
I don’t get where this 28/29/30 talk is coming from. Regardless, they should take the best asset available, with the highest ceiling when it’s their turn to pick. The rest will figure itself out.

Jeff Passan on Fromthe108
And he only moved to 3B because the Dodgers had Seager

2025 International signings thread
The Pirates already did

Chris Getz on the REKAP podcast
Thats exactly what a team in their position should be doing. They’re not trying to win, they’re not at the point yet. The best case scenario for the Sox this season is that they end up with the first overall pick in the draft.

White Sox sign LHP Martin Pérez
Outside of Benintendi and Robert, the Sox are out of the tear down phase of the rebuild. Now it’s all about multiplying assets (flipping guys)

24-25 NFL Thread
I agree that Poles hasn’t maximized his assets and made a mistake by building the team outside in but the franchise was dysfunctional. Yeah he made a mistake by bringing back Eberflus but it was clear who was making the decisions. Warren comes in and we don’t know who is responsible for what. Who made the call to fire Everflus? Does Poles have to go to Warren on approval on matters related to the 53. I mean today, Poles had a press conference, and immediately afterwards George and Warren had their own. A lot of what they said was dumb, some contradictory. There’s too many cooks in the kitchen.

24-25 NFL Thread
Hiring Kevin Warren might be one of the worst things the Bears have ever done. It seemed like Poles was operating the ship just fine, it seems like everything has become so messy since Warren has come on board. I also have serious doubts about his ability to get THIS TEAM a stadium/entertainment complex. The hire is looking really bad right now

The International Signing Thread
Vera was undone by injuries

Best front office in pro sports
Biggest reason why the 2016 rebuild failed. Not their failure to sign Machado or Harper.

Would we be
If Robert rebounds, Vaughn and Benny hit, they’re all gone by the TDL. Which would be incredible for the Sox.

White Sox 2025 International Signing Period
Some of these signings were publicized by their trainers years ago. You can see if you look up their IG pages or twitter accounts. I would love it if they took a page from the Dodgers every year and sign like 20+ players every year but they need to complete the new academy for that to happen. I like a lot of the things Getz is doing to modernize the organization but overhauling this department is going to take the longest.

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
I think Meidroth is going to win the 2B job outright in camp

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
Too early for that in terms of free agents. Embrace the suck

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
For a team in their position, they’re having a really good offseason. Shocked he didn’t sign with a more competitive club. I wonder how he’ll be used. I wish they would sign a vet started and make a deal for Robert (if their price is met) but I like what they’ve done so far.

White Sox Projected Rotations
I’m not saying he should open the year in Chicago but if he keeps it up and it’s after the ASB or later in the season, bring him up. The only argument for keeping him down till 2026 is that the Sox might get an extra pick because he could win ROY that year.

White Sox Projected Rotations
Innings are the same in the minors as the pros. He can get MLB guys out right now, why can’t they continue to stretch him and increase his innings at the big league level? Do you think the Sox are playing for something other than the first overall pick?
