  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 11:02 PM) What would you guys think of taking Jackson Reetz with our second pick if we took Kolek at #3? Just because you draft a pitcher it doesn't mean that you need to draft a catcher, but with all that being said I am favor of them drafting Jakson Reetz. Reets is 6'1 and 190lbs and he will definitely be a catcher at the next level unlike Alex Jackson who will most likely switch a corner outfield spot. Reetz is a athletic backstop and he has a strong arm behind the plate, what separates him from other catching prospects is the fact that he can flat out hit. Some of the prospect blogs/magazines say that he compares favorably to Buster Posey.
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 02:24 AM) .279AVG/34HR/99RBI Me being optimistic
  3. If I were Rick Hahn and the team is about to head into Spring Training with the C's that we have on the roster I would be actively looking for a trade, specifically I would be looking to acquire on of the top catching propspects, i.e Gary Sanchez, Jorge Alfalo from the Yankees and Rangers respectively.
  4. I know we have 4 months to the draft but I am hoping that the Sox can draft these players over the course of the draft with their picks: First Round: Jacob Gatewood 3B/Tyler Kolek P/Alex Jackson OF-C Rounds 2-40" Kel Johnson OF Zach Shannon OF Kodi Medeiros P Jakson Reetz C J.J. Schwarz C Carson Sands P
  5. I see Hoffman being nothing more than a solid number 3 starter in the bigs.
  6. I've said that I am hoping that they draft either Gatewood, Kolek or Jackson, but I am really warming to Braxton Davidson. He has an impact left bat and he can potentially be a monster in the middle of the order for years to come. People are saying that he is a lefty Paul Goldschimdt, thats not a bad comp at all.
  7. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) System got some new respect. BP really likes Danish and Anderson ('13 draft was praised). I know Parks likes Leury quite a bit as well. Really outside of a few picks I hated that draft class, I thought 2012 was a way better class.
  8. Baltimore is willing to move Wieters, they are looking for pitching in return, and they are willing to sell low on him after his 2013 season. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/orio...tt-wieters.html
  9. Its no secret that the farm system is one of the worst in all of baseball, but it is safe to say that the farm is on the way up with guys like Hawkins, Danish, Zapata, Anderson, etc. With this 3rd overall pick the 2014 draft is a big one for the White Sox
  10. How did they get to that number
  11. I want a fulls scale rebuild, but if the White Sox sign Salty to a reasonable contract I would not be upset.
  12. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) Man, that De Aza trade and that Keppinger trade was really nice. I loved all his moves except for Sale for Puig. Should have made it Sale and Viciedo for Puig and Joc Pederson. That Sale-Puig trade is terrible, You could get so much more from him. I know its a simulation, but that was a terrible trade.
  13. I think that standing pat is the right thing to do for the White Sox, I love the Abreu signing and it makes sense from a baseball standpoint and I love it because they nabbed a middle of the order hitter for $10 million a year. But there is no one that makes sense for this team on the open market, and if I am Rick Hahn, I am calling every GM in MLB as I try to bring some young talent into the fold. (Here's to you Angel Sanchez)
  14. If I am Rick Hahn and there is a possibility that I can add Angel Sanchez to the White Sox, and get rid of Gordon Beckham, I am doing everything in my power to make that trade happen.
  15. I do not want either of them on the Sox, LA can keep them both.
  16. The Sox could easily get 2 of a teams top 10 prospects for Quintana
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 05:26 PM) The most important part by far is which one has the higher chance of busting? You haven't spelled that out. I think that Soler, who I am very high on has the highest chance of busting amongst the core Cubs prospects. I would say Bryant is more of a sure thing because he is closer to majors than Almora.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Possibly one of them, though again, it isn't what the Sox need. They need a major league 3B, or someone who will be ready to take a shot at the majors this year. If you could have one of them, who would it be. I am torn between Bryant and Almora. Bryant can be that monster in the middle of the order, who can play 3B for the White Sox and be that middle of the order bat for the next 10+ years. And Almora could be the White Sox version of Derek Jeter, and a dynamic and versatile #2 hitter.

  20. Do you think that Quintana could net either Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler, Albert Almora or Javier Baez?
  21. I am not high on Turner at all, i would dissapointed if the Sox drafted him
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) A player in the situation that Kyle Seager is in. Young player, cost controlled, who is currently about a 3-5 WAR player. I like his younger brother better
  23. Who do you want to be the team's next hitting coach? Since Rick Hahn stated that whoever the next hitting coach will be that his philosophy will be preached throughout the entire organization, I am hoping for Rudy Jamarillo to be hired, he was behind some of the most dynamic offense in MLB over the past 15 years during his time with the Astros and Rangers. As a hitting coach he preaches five steps: seeing the ball, rhythm, separation, staying square and weight shift-transfer. And if this taught throughout the organization, it will really help guys like Courtney Hawkins to realize their skills at the plate.
