  1. Selling doesn’t equal rebuild. I think a slight retool of the roster can do wonders for it. And why not trade guys, who are easily replaceable, on expiring contracts or who are on the decline? Take Abreu for example, he might be a platoon guy in this point in his career. Plus having him off the team, strips the team of a 1B/DH type and they have too many of those. Trading him would allow Andrew Vaughn to play his natural position and you can get a natural outfielder to go in the OF which could help improve team defense. Just an example.
  2. I don’t think this is a playoff team, with a horrible manager not optimizing the talent on the roster, the constant injuries and the lack of adequate organizational depth. There’s just so much to overcome in my opinion. If the Sox find themselves out of the playoff picture come the ASB, I think they should look to trade some of the vets on the roster. Most notably Abreu, Lynn, and Pollock. Acquire some more useful pieces and some depth hopefully and use the off-season to build a playoff roster. What do you think?
  3. I do too, it’s a glaring hole in the org. They need more athletes too.
  4. This is a good sign for the PD side of things for the Sox. I don’t think Montgomery would be thriving like this under the previous regime.
  5. He took out Andrew Vaughn???
  6. I’d think it would be beneficial for the both of them if Kath and Montgomery move up the ladder together.
  7. If the Sox came out of the draft with Tucker Toman in the first and Roman Anthony in the second, I’d be very pleased. It would be a huge coup for the system, they may not be too 100 guys out of the gate but they have ceilings that you want to bet on.
  8. If he could play second…
  9. I absolutely agree with this and hopefully he comes back and play well to raise his value but I’d absolutely float him out there if I were Hahn. If Miami offered Max Meyer or Edward Cabrera and Trevor Rodgers, Id absolutely make the move.
  10. If the Sox are out of it near the TDL, they gotta look to trade Abreu (and Pollock), he’s not going to be here for the long haul anymore. He’s on an expiring contract and they could get something for him instead of letting him walk and get nothing.
  11. 1. Robby Snelling 2. Tucker Toman 3. Connor Prielipp 4. Drew Gilbert
  12. I’m so glad that Hostetler isn’t making the draft decisions anymore. No more prioritizing 1B only, college corner types.
  13. Katz is the best coach on the staff look at how the arms have developed under him. And how guys in the pen have been rock solid. The real question is why can’t the PD staff under Getz, emulate his success with developing pitchers, system wide. Developing pitchers is probably the Sox weak point right now in the farm system.
  14. Did Andrew Vaughn die? Why isn’t he in the lineup.
  15. True, they never fired a manager in season but they never bought a player out before and then Dani’s happened…
  16. Giraldi and now Maddon have been canned for underperforming with their teams. What are the White Sox doing?
  17. I would be too. Adding prep guys with high ceilings in back to back drafts would be a huge boost to the system.
  18. His personality would fit in well with the current guys on the team.
  19. If he’s the pick at 26 and he’s a lefty version of Harrison Bader, it’s a good pick.
  20. I hated the pick at the time, still do but it’s a win for the Sox.
  21. I really like Ben Joyce from Tennessee. He’s probably not a starter in the bigs but he can be a really useful multi inning reliever. He throws fu*king gas.
  22. After the season, the entire coaching staff, with the exception of Ethan Katz and Curt Hasler, needs to be fired. Thats where I’m at.
  23. And Drew Gilbert seems like a player who’d fit in those grinder rules commercials
