I started to think about this over the weekend and I wanted to get everyones opinion here. How do you want the Sox to proceed with the Samardzija extension? Part of me would like them to get him locked up and have a rock solid 1-4 for the next 4-5 years. On the other hand, Rodon will be a full-time figure in the rotation next year and Danish and Montas have the chance to maybe break as well, so maybe invest that money elsewhere and get the comp pick?

Vlad Jr. would be an excellent surprise

His list is actually one of the ones I've liked the best so far. I know most everyone here is equally excited, but the Rodon rankings are really exciting me to the possibility of the direction of this franchise. If they can keep Samardzija or replace him with another front end RHP, that rotation could be special for the next 5 seasons.

I really wish the Sox were in this derby, imagine if he could eventually replace Conor. That lineup would be just sick.

While I think the success of Danks is important, I think this season hinges a lot more on the development of Avisail into an asset. He needs to be a 2-3 WAR player this season, likely 3 if they wanna be a playoff team.

Though Im pretty sure he is referring to Adams, I seem to remember Law having some incredibly positive words regarding Danish late last season.

I dont know why, but I like this move a lot. Hasn't had an OPS+ below 98 since 2010, high walk rate, good BB:K rate. Makes a lot of sense as a back, makes you kind of wonder why they even traded for Brantly as Kottaras seems like a much better backup option. Unless this is an indication that Flowers might be headed elsewhere?
