I think the Sox black on black players weekend looked bad ass, but totally didn't like the look on other teams.
I would love a new Alt/Sunday jersey personally. The 83s were fun for a while, but now they feel old and tired and representative of some really bad rebuilding baseball. This young squad needs a fresh new Alt jersey.
My hope for Eloy is that he spent the winter working in LF to improve his D to the point where he less of an injury risk. I don't expect gold glove, but he must stay healthy. His bat is far too important to be missing chunks of time on the IL.
13 probably a little low, but perhaps fair due to question marks and lack of track record. But real curious to see which teams made the list above the Sox.
edit: yeah, that list is real bad.
I don't think it changes anything regarding Madrigal. Unless he makes it 1000% obvious he is ready out of Spring Training, no one really has a case to argue against him spending a few more weeks in AAA.. It might make other teams be more careful with how they handle service time with guys that are obviously ready, but I'm just speculating.
Do you trust Renteria to not over play him, because I don't. You could be totally right about his role and he's a good fit for it, but RR worries me with certain guys.
Was about to say the same. I wish Yolmer the best, but he has had 600+ games to show he could hit enough to be a regular. If he had come up in a different org that didn't suck before going full rebuild he probably doesn't even get half of those games. It was time to part ways. His glove is good enough to keep him on a roster for his quality defense, but its pretty obvious no one was knocking down his door with a starting spot.
Kopech would need to miss around 57 calendar days from Opening Day to not exceed 172 service time days in 2020, which would be May 21st - if I am doing my math right.
I saw that too. He is way more educated in evaluation than I, but I too am Moncada, Robert, Eloy. All 3 are special talents offensively, but if comparing all 3 to each other Eloy's D puts him last. But all 3 are going to be perennial All Stars IMO.
This is spot on with Madrigal. Unless he absolutely destroys Spring Training, I don't there is even a question that he goes to Charlotte for a few weeks. Other 2B options will keep the spot warm until he arrives.
