  1. His BA (I know its not the end all be all) the past two years concerns me in a PH role. And his literal lack of innings on the left side of the infield questions his utility role. If the FO sees a fit, cool, but seems like a odd fit to me.
  2. Dozier had some astonishing HR numbers not too long ago, but overall his numbers aren't that good in recent years. Add that to the fact that he hasn't played anywhere but 2B since his rookie year in 2012 and I find it difficult to see a fit. Not sure I buy this rumor.
  3. After the debacle that was 2011, Robin always felt like a sort of fan-service, polar opposite of Ozzie, look how smart this FO is kind of hire. And it almost worked for a season. But after the collapse of 2012, if the Sox manager were anyone other than beloved player turned not very good manager Robin Ventura, he would have been replaced. Instead the FO gave Robin shit roster in 2013 and gave him no chance to succeed in the subsequent years by half-assed "retool" rebuilding. And we all know how that turned out.
  4. 4/$92M for a 34y/o. Hope the back end bites them in the ass.
  5. Damns. If the ball is as juiced that offense will be tough. Pitching is still a problem but thy will score plenty of runs.
  6. Officially Official! Actually surprised it was Covey DFAd but also totally ok with it!
  7. I just checked and it looks like the bleachers and whole outfield is sold out. Upper corners start at $25 and range up to $39 for the upper deck. Cheapest lower bowl looks like $75 in sec 108 & 156.
  8. The Sox will someday have a manager better than Renteria, but it won't be AJ Hinch.
  9. Probably true. But i'd still rather see Mendick or someone else as the backup INF over Yolmer.
  10. And Yolmer is never a guy that you want pinch hitting either. Leury is already on the roster, and while not the defender Yolmer is, Leury can at least hit and isn't a total black hole at the plate when he does need to fill in. At a fraction of the cost.
  11. If it weren't beneficial, why keep doing it?? ?
  12. Players were complicit, even if unpunished...
  13. I assume this is the same mini-camp they've been doing with their top prospects the past few years? Not sure. Still nice to see guys putting in work!
  14. Probably true. But doesn't help it look like anything but a light punishment.
  15. Yup. $5M for the org is nothing. Suspensions for executives feel like a slap on the wrist. No punishment for any of the players that participated either.
  16. Even if it took only prospects, they'd be what, $35M over the very luxury tax that has kept them sitting on their hands all winter? Without a full starting staff or pen. Yeah...
  17. Honestly, this just sold me. If any of our starting OFs need an IL stint, Engel's shortcomings are quickly exposed. If Leury is going to be more backup INF over OF, Maybin does make a lot of sense.
