Well since I'm a Sox historian and have been at it for a number of years, I honestly hope I'd remember a lot of the former players! ?
-
Not necessarily. Did the Sox say anything about Jones for example after he got hurt? I don't think they said a word until Rick announced he had surgery and was done for the year. Same with Rodon if I remember right two years ago with that mysterious shoulder soreness in spring training. They went weeks without saying a word. Sox basically just seem a little paranoid about medical issues going back to Kenny's press conference after "shouldergate" where he defended the Sox medical staff when some of the injured pitchers were saying they were misdiagnosed as well as Toronto's charges that he was hiding Sirotka's injury. (I don't think he was and neither did the commissioner as it turned out)

I don't care if Alonso and Castillo drive in six runs tonight between them. This is simply a stupid move by Rickey. He refuses to learn it seems (so he fits right in with this front office). Of course it may not matter anyway with Covey pitching, he may be resting guys basically because he's conceding the game.
-
Maybe they should but it's not going to happen, we should stop dreaming.
-
But he didn't say WHEN said money would be spent did he?
-
The risk there is that if they tank for another 2-3 years there may not be any fan base left, to say nothing of advertising / merchandising losses and their TV deal.
-
I yern for the days when the Sox would get guys like Ellis Burks, Julio Franco, Darrin Jackson, Tony Phillips, Danny Tartabull, Mike LaValliere... et al and lo and behold they'd actually produce.

Sox are calling it a shoulder strain and he'll be looked at on Wednesday. (What are the odds he's under the knife in two weeks or so?)

2018-2019 Official NBA thread

NBA.com has a story saying Davis still wants out of new orleans. -
They already have in a sense, his name was Santana. I can't believe I'm saying this but would they consider bringing back James Shields who threw for some teams last week?
-
And so is JR my friend.

From the MLB.com site: https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/rick-hahn-looks-back-on-trade-of-fernando-tatis-jr I found this statement VERY interesting: “At the same time, the decision to make that trade was motivated by elements within the organization we are trying to avoid as we complete this rebuild, as we get to the other side of the rebuild.” Could he be referring to someone in particular? Hello....Kenny!!!!!!!!!!!

Will the last healthy White Sox player please turn out the lights when you leave the ballpark. Thank You. White Sox management

Well they weren't going to really be doing anything this year anyway so I guess from that perspective it's not a big deal. What IS a big deal is injury after injury after injury seemingly non-stop. And I don't think you'll be seeing Banuelos for awhile anyway.
-
You can't make this stuff up folks.
-
Don't think that will be happening. It will probably be more dumpster diving.
-
Actually it is the past three seasons if you include the big league team.
-
From Rick Hahn today: “This is an unfortunate side effect sometimes of Tommy John, in terms of the scar tissue build up as well as issues that develop with the nerve,” said Hahn of Adolfo, who had Tommy John in ’18. “Both of these are highly fixable, so we remain very optimistic on his full recovery and returning to us without restriction.”
-
After the injury news today this was a breath of fresh air at least for tonight.
-
Yet they'll waste said money on guys like Keppinger, LaRoche, Dunn, Alonso and Jay
-
PTATC: I may be wrong but even with Herm being an honorary trainer now, I think in the media guide the trainer with the least seniority on the Sox major league staff has been around for like 21 years. That's off the top of my head but I recall seeing this when I went through the media guide a few months ago. That's not exactly young to me but again I could have misread the information.
-
And they'll still win 90 games and make the playoffs because they have a front office that actually knows what they are doing over and above spending money.
-
I understand that but what would it hurt given what is at stake? Maybe something is being missed, maybe there is something new out there conditioning wise for example that isn't known by the Sox. Seems like cheap insurance to me.
