  1. JR says , "He's got 4.5 million reasons...I'm not paying him not to work."
  2. Sox have now scored three runs or less in 21 of the 28 games played. That's 75%! What really is frustrating to me is there seems to be no consequences for guys not being able to execute basic fundamental baseball plays with men in scoring position and less than two out. No one is benched, sent back down to the minor leagues, DFA's for cast off's and has been's...nothing is done. I don't even know if they work on situational hitting in pregame drills. If they do, I haven't read or seen anything about it.
  3. 2nd game this season the Sox had a lead in the 7th inning or later and lost. It is what it is. Situational hitting and an inability to get runners home with less than two out has been killing this team for years.
  4. The Cubs were the ones who initiated and left NBC Sports Chicago not the other way around NBCSC wasn't trying to kick them out they were dead set on forming their own network.
  5. Who even knows when Rojas will be back. I remember when he got hurt some were saying it would only be a few days or a week. It's been at least a month now. That must have been a bad fractured toe.
  6. But they simply refuse to pay for superstar, game changing talent. But as you said they will waste millions on stiffs, has been's, retreads and cast offs.
  7. His family won't...but as long as JR is around he simply won't pay the going rate for very good players.
  8. Just FYI, I posted this two weeks ago. 😉
  9. If JR still has the club and the kid does well he'll be traded since JR won't meet his salary demands. Have to continue to be "fiscally responsible" you understand.
  10. They are last in baseball is just about every major offensive category. Runs per game: 3.12 Average: .203 Slugging: .310 Hits: 163 🙄
  11. There's plenty to blame on both sides here but given the broadcasting climate in general, the regional sports issues and cord cutting it didn't make much sense for the Sox, JR and Brooks to attempt to start a new regional sports network under those conditions. That gamble was a long shot and they are paying the price. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
  12. Burke with another bad outing. But hey, they actually scored more than three runs! 🙄
  13. "If" is the biggest little word in the English language and consider this...will JR agree to pay his salary next year when all indications are they could be cutting even more payroll due to the expected labor dispute in the 2027 campaign? I'd be surprised if he'd allow it so unfortunately if Robert puts things together you deal him for as much as you can in July.
  14. I guess it is fine to score three runs or less as long as you shut out the other team but the Twins starter wasn't that good and they could only get two runs off him. That's not very good is it?
  15. All of us were expecting something like this but still it is shocking to see that the Sox are already nine and a half games out of first place and May isn't even here yet. They could be a dozen games out by next week. Wow
  16. White Sox now 1-10 vs. division. 0-3 vs. Detroit 0-3 vs. Cleveland 1-4 vs. Minnesota
  17. At least they are consistent...three runs or less...again.
  18. Isn't that the truth. Not just Getz though, Hahn had a revolving door of players no other team cared for.
  19. I don't watch as often as I used to, who does anymore given the situation... but the bottom line is that any "improvement" is basically inconsequential since the vast majority of said players (maybe all of them) won't be around in a year or two and they'll be starting with an entirely new deck. As far as the bolden part, well..."Other then the end, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?" How "competent" can you be when you still can't do fundamental things like advance runners into scoring position or actually get guys home from third base with less than two out? The roster is basically comprised of stiffs, has been's, retreads and injury prone players. That's improvement?
  20. If you think about it does it even really matter with those guys? Sosa MAYBE the only one worth playing time anyway.
  21. “These guys have been working incredibly hard and they’ve put themselves in a good position to take good swings, it’s going to turn here. We’ve got to keep continuing to fight.”---Will Venable to MLB.com 😆
