Ishbia taking control by 2029?
Tremendous very detailed story on today's events and the possible location of a new stadium (Michael Reese). Includes quotes from Ishbia spokesman and politicians. Also had history of JR's machinations: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2025/06/05/white-sox-jerry-reinsdorf-justin-ishbia-ownership-transfer-new-stadium “This is an investment in the future of the Chicago White Sox, and I am excited for the opportunity to deepen my commitment to the city and the team,” Ishbia said through a spokesperson. “I love Chicago, have always loved baseball, and am thrilled to marry two of my passions. I am also very pleased to have my brother Mat and father Jeff joining me in this investment, bringing their collective business and sports acumen to the partnership.” Reinsdorf never said how much money Sox ownership was willing to contribute to The 78 proposal. Ishbia has far deeper pockets that could potentially improve the team’s odds in Springfield.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
I'm guessing it will be more along the lines of what the release said, "capital investments" aka money for a new stadium (and I'm guessing it will be a lot more than the 200 million JR is supposedly willing to contribute...)

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
The one note that causes me concern was the statement in the release that the Sox said there's no assurance any such transaction will occur.

Thank God for the Rockies
He'll spend even less and order more payroll reductions due to the uncertain status of the 2027 season.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
Some good news at least although 2029 is still a long way away to see this franchise continue to be awful.

GT Elko back Tigers @ Sox 640 pm Shuster/Gipson-Long
3-16 in one run games. That really is incredible, you'd think the law of averages would kick in and they'd win a few. Wonder what the worst record for a season in one run games is.

“The 78” is alive and well, moisturized and thriving , Viva La Canal's Edge!
It depends on the business you are in.

Vaughn/Elko updates...
Yet another hip flexor injury to a White Sox player.

Cannon to 15-day IL, Caleb Freeman up from Charlotte
Any player worth a damn is going to say they are OK, I know I was concussed in a game badly, to this day I still have no memory of what was going on from Friday night to Monday night but I played the next week. My point is you don't just take his word for it, you have him examined by the team doctor or trainer and get that second opinion to be sure. Now, if in fact, the Sox did this, then that leads credence to what fathom posted, that the Sox mishandled yet another injury situation. PTATC you've got to admit, history shows they have had a number of questionable decisions in these matters, Robert himself immediately comes to mind having him play basically swinging with one arm a few years ago.

6/3 GT Brieske vs Smith Tigers/Sox 6:40
Just amazing the split this year. When they win a game it is usually a blowout...when they lose it is usually by one run. Very strange.

Cannon to 15-day IL, Caleb Freeman up from Charlotte
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and the fact that he got an opportunity, only a few of these jobs become available and he felt if nothing else the experience would be beneficial.

Cannon to 15-day IL, Caleb Freeman up from Charlotte
The latest in a long line of these type situations. Venable said they took Cannon's word that he was "OK"

WBWSF: For the millionth time, JR is NOT SELLING THE TEAM. Full stop. End of story. His kids will sell it after he passes away.

Column on "rebuilding"...
Just FYI, that last comment that I posted from the column isn't my opinion it was written by Paul Sullivan although the blame to a large extent directly falls on JR.
