  1. The analysts show their personal lists on these shows, and FWIW Robert was in the 3-5 range on a couple of theirs. If not for his, September crater, I bet the shredder would have had him top 5 too
  2. It's my opinion that his value will never be higher because right now, he looks like a scary dominant lefty who throws 103 with a wipeout slider. But it's so easy to get caught up in visions of him being a #1 starter long-term that I feel as if his flaws are being ignored. The fact that you can say he has a Randy Johnson ceiling right now speaks to the fact that his value is more likely to decrease than increase
  3. It would never happen but I would've shopped Crochet heavily this offseason. His value will never be higher, IMO, and if you could get a Burnes type or a stud RF with control, that's an easy trade for me to make
  4. I probably would trade Crochet+ for him. It would be the ultimate sell-high move, but it would hurt. I definitely wouldn't move Kopech, but as established earlier in the thread, that has nothing to do with Burnes and is just my high opinion of him plus all the great things I've heard about him this offseason
  5. Seeing a lot of "if that's what Burnes will cost, just sign Richards!" And I agree, I wouldn't be comfortable trading Kopech, Vaughn, or Crochet either. But I think you're really oversimplifying signing Richards, especially given the relatively high AAV SP contracts being handed out lately. If the budget is as tight as we all think, who's to say that the alternative to a Burnes trade isn't closer to the Brett Anderson/Rick Porcello tier?
  6. It's 2/32 according to everywhere but the thread title btw
  7. I guess we're not the only fanbase with weird burners who actually get through to real reporters
  8. I've watched this probably 10 times since March. I still think Kopech will be an ace, and I don't fault him at all for opting out
  9. Nah, a few weeks from now he and his coworkers will be tweeting out about how Eaton for 1/8 was a much better value than Brantley or Springer
  10. It's a new interview today but Hahn is reusing his jokes
  11. He's rarely that specific in these interviews, for sure.
  12. I heard that earlier today, long before all the Burnes talk, and had the same reaction as you
  13. Because I don't want to be responsible for whatever you plan on sending him
  14. Ozzie gave out his phone number on a pregame show last year, it's not hard to find
  15. He was always an efficient scorer but he's taking it to a ridiculous level lately. I've looked into his shot selection and overall shot metrics compared to last season and it doesn't even appear as if it's a lucky streak
  16. No, not at all. They still have tens of millions to spend, open rotation slots, and Chatwood might even be signing on as a reliever anyway
  17. Is his agent Dominican? If so, yes
  18. Yeah, so this is the guy Passan was roasting, not Hector. This makes a lot more sense given that Passan has credited Hector in the past
  19. From what I can tell, the guy he tagged (@RicardoGibbon) reported this, and Gomez just translated it to English. Why he didn't retweet/quote tweet it is beyond me.
  20. Are we sure he's referring to Hector? He has credited him in the past
  21. (That's Cruz in the video, obviously)
  22. Pretty much any Dominican player. I think a lot of us are assuming it's Cruz because he connected him to the Sox earlier in the week
  23. If it helps anyone, this is what I know of Gomez's history with the Sox: 2018-2019: Continuously said that he believed Machado would sign with White Sox. Stated that Sox offered 8 years, $250 million. Chicago media went out in full force to tell him he was wrong about the offer (they believed it was $175 million). Obviously, he ended up being right about the offer, but wrong about him signing here. March 2019: First reporter to announce that Eloy Jimenez and the Sox were working on an extension, which was official within a week. December 2019: Retweeted a fellow reporter (Frank Castillo) who believed Marcell Ozuna was signing with the White Sox. Gomez was not the reporter who said Ozuna would sign, he just said he believed in his colleague's info.
