  1. I was gonna say he could just go back to college but I guess @bmags thinks that isn't a possibility. I know it's rare but I figured it could at least be considered
  2. Jose Abreu replied to bruni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    Maybe Engel but that's it
  3. My guess is it was a pre-draft agreement saying that we really want him and would draft him at 46 or whatever rather than where he was projected, and in return we'd pay him what he would've gotten had he been drafted where he was projected. Maybe there was mutual interest
  4. I wish they would do it without all the bunting, though
  5. No, if that were the case, they'd be pining for 1921 Babe Ruth.
  6. Also, Moncada is still one of the highest rated defensive 2B. Fangraphs has him at #5
  7. Nope, everyone needs to be superstars right away or else they're busts. The irony is that everyone's favorite young players (Torres, Andujar, Albies) all have major issues. Torres is the worst defensive 2B in baseball, Andujar is the worst defensive 3B in baseball, and Albies forgot how to play baseball.
  8. I did. I had assumed he would go in the 25-30 range.
  9. I think we should let him switch hit (and actually bat him leadoff against LHP to get him reps, and stop asking him to bunt against LHP to get him reps) for the rest of the season and for the first half next year. If he still looks this bad as a right handed hitter, I think that's when we should consider a switch. Perhaps even after the 2019 season.
  10. Why don't you get mad every time a player loses his cool and gets ejected? Why is it only a problem when Anderson does it?
  11. It's crazy how much one game affects people's perceptions of a player. Just yesterday Moncada was on his way back and was a budding star. Now he's a bust and a lost cause less than 24 hours later.
  12. Just got home. Ricky really took the bat out of Yoan's hand by making him bunt? Seriously, how the fuck is he gonna get better as a RHH if we don't let him hit as a RHH? Infuriating.
  13. Moncada 2B Anderson SS Abreu 1B Palka/Davidson DH A. Garcia RF L. Garcia LF Sanchez 3B Smith C Tilson CF Is by far our best lineup IMO. I'd love to see this used. Get Engel out of there, move Anderson up, play Leury every day
  14. Moncada and Anderson are so similar defensively. Elite range for their positions, dazzling plays from time to time, but sometimes messes up routine plays. If they both hit their defensive ceilings (which Anderson is already starting to do), we're gonna have the best defensive middle infield in baseball, and it won't even be close.
  15. An incredible AB nonetheless. Anderson would've singled though.
  16. This should be Anderson instead of Smith anyway. This lineup construction sucks
  17. Avi might finish the season with single digit walks. Currently on pace for 0.
  18. Yeah that isn't fun. Once I ran into a metal pole full speed while playing basketball because I lost my footing while driving in for a layup. It's such a weird mix of embarrassment, pain, and confusion
  19. giELITEo has returned, ladies and gents
  20. That was a really bad inning for the home plate ump.
  21. Lucas Giolito: No-Hitter In Theaters December 2018
  22. Nope he's not a hall of famer so that means he sucks. Get with the program
