  1. She antagonizes leftists and is essentially an establishment liberal disguised as progressive. Basically the poster child for racial diversity not equaling actual progress or ideological diversity. https://twitter.com/briebriejoy has some tweets that explain it
  2. I assume by "these guys", you mean Blake Snell, Sonny Gray types? Because I feel pretty confident that Lance Lynn and Joe Musgrove will be moved
  3. Exactly. Imagine that version of Dunn batting in the 7-9 area of the lineup and playing a good RF. That would be a very valuable player
  4. I'm one of the few who liked Dunn from 2012-2014 so I'd be thrilled with that production from our right fielder + Gallo's solid defense. I don't think that package gets close to Snell or Gray but I hear you. I do tend to think that Darvish, despite the big contract, fetches closer to what Snell/Gray will get than what Lynn/Musgrove will get just because of his track record though. That said, I still don't believe Darvish will get a blue chip prospect because of the $59 million remaining
  5. He really is. For as much as people would hate him due to the high-risk/high-reward offensive approach, this team is begging for a gold glove caliber right fielder who bats left-handed, takes walks, and hits home runs. He checks all the boxes
  6. Yeah, I've seen a lot of suggestions that Darvish would require one of Kopech/Vaughn and I just don't agree. In normal circumstances, sure. But 3/59 in this economic environment probably won't get a top 25 prospect, no matter who the player being dealt is. I see that as more of a Cease/Dunning and Madrigal, plus one of the Kelley/Thompson/Dalquist types.
  7. Gallo has 2 years and both would be somewhat easy to extend
  8. Antifa International Headquarters Incorporated is allegedly paying out $1,000,000 checks (signed by George Soros, of course) for it to happen this week in California!
  9. Yeah that swing video doesn't really impress me but I hope he does well. Was surprised to see him protected today
  10. The one thing many (myself included) have been overlooking about the TLR hire is that the sac bunts are totally back. I'll always cherish the literal one year we let them die
  11. For sure. That's why I'd be content to continue quarantining as I have been since March if I don't get the vaccine. That said, I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting it as soon as it's made available to me, in spite of my concerns
  12. Exactly. It's the long-term effects that won't be observed due to the time crunch that worry me. I'll probably get it regardless, I always get vaccines and I understand that the odds are very high that extended testing and time would not reveal any sort of long-term consequences. At the same time, I think it's a valid concern and wouldn't fault someone for using it as a reason to not get it. Anti-vaxxers, on the other hand, are a whole other story
  13. But if that were the case, I think the connections would be coming from Bob Nightengale and verified reporters like that, not from random burner accounts
  14. "Drunk driving is cool, snowflake" is such an appalling position to take, and the amount of people going with it (more so on Twitter than ST) is discouraging
  15. A bit, sure, but Pomeranz at least had a track record of health. I didn't think his deal was as outrageous as this one, primarily for that reason.
  16. Agreed. As long as those prospects aren't Vaughn or Kopech, I'll probably be happy. They can trade any of Cease, Madrigal, Stiever, Collins, Adolfo, and *maybe* one of the Dalquist/Thompson/Kelley tier if it means they're getting a significant upgrade
  17. I'm trying to think about what this means for the market. $11 million for a guy with 26 innings last year (great innings, but his first quality work since 2015) is ridiculous for what we've been told is a depressed market. Is spending gonna be higher than we anticipated?
  18. No, this tweet is not from 2014
  19. Not much. I think people just didn't really know about his style and his flaws so they were upset when they came to light this season. Plus, low-BA/high-OBP players rarely get their due from the masses regardless.
  20. You're crazy. James McCann has never made a mistake in his life
  21. I will say it's nice that the "irrationally hated by Soxtalk" player is no longer Yoan Moncada, but some of the Grandal hate is genuinely hilarious. There was one post a few weeks ago suggesting that the starting pitchers had literal fights over not having to throw to him
  22. Yeah, I was gonna say Dodgers. Not sure about the Yankees- I'd probably take the Sox lineup over theirs even as is.
  23. The plus with Springer is that he, for his career, actually hits RHP better than LHP (although he hits them both very well, of course). If he is signed, however, I don't think the only LHH (or switch hitters) would be Grandal and Moncada. If they spend so much money on Springer, I doubt they'd also shell out for any FA SP aside from Quintana types. I believe a Springer signing might foreshadow Madrigal being moved in a package for a good SP, and one of Wong/Hernandez/La Stella signed in part to balance things out.
  24. Not trying to rain on the parade by the way- the account's info could very well be accurate, in fact in the case of Springer, it is. Just wanted to caution people to not make assumptions about its future validity and its role in the burner account sphere
  25. I agree with most of this. The one thing I’d add, with respect to your comment that the Hamburger had been tweeting for months and isn’t new, is that if someone has the time to run and consistently update 1-3 burner accounts, then it wouldn’t surprise me if he also has backup accounts that he occasionally updates if things go haywire with the others. I bet there are more out there right now even that we haven’t found
