  1. .300 average, 94 RBIs now
  2. I love how the site is overall, but if there's one thing I'd change, it would be the physical layout (if possible). A modernized feel could be more convenient
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 05:52 AM) Saladino has played every position but catcher and pitcher this year. I did read last year, they were reluctant to use him in the OF due to his TJ surgery. Robin said yesterday he is more valuable moving around than playing one position. What's funny is he is actually our emergency catcher and can do so adequately if needed
  4. Start him and trade Lawrie. This guy can hit a little, and we already know of his good instincts, fundamentals, baserunning, and fielding.
  5. Saladino and Abreu having monstrous second halves
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) How could it be happening in September? I assume you're meaning during the offseason, as Sale and Q weren't placed on waivers. I thought September trades were legal but players traded cannot be on playoff rosters. Didn't this happen last year with Tampa and another non-playoff team? Obviously the Red Sox wouldn't do it, but can't it happen?
  7. frustrating- cutler was such a different QB that first half when he had protection. makes all the difference in the world
  8. false alarm ^ https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/09/a-j-...-to-retire.html
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 10, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) No way. Can't wait for Melky to be gone too. And before you bring up Jose Quintana, his suspension was fishy and he was a teenager. Once you're in the union, and you continue to cheat (and also lie about it), I don't want you on the team I root for. Yeah, as far as I know Quintana needed something for a back injury at 17 and apparently didn't know it was a banned substance
  10. bump He has me excited now. I think he can be a legit #1/#2 as soon as next year.
  11. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:15 PM) The higher injury risk with Sale and the fact that Quintana seems to be undervalued compared to other pitchers in the league for what he gives a team. Tired of hearing the "injury risk" of Sale as a reason teams would give up smaller packages for him or us trading him over Quintana. This is his 7th season. If he were that susceptible to injury, he would have missed more than just a few starts over his career.
  12. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) I think he'll be much better than Alexei. That's a very optimistic claim but we'll see. He can hit for a higher average than Alexei, walk at a similarly low rate, hit for maybe a little less power, but defensively, Alexei will probably edge Anderson. Hope I'm proved wrong
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) What's the point in moving Sale if you don't move Quintana? He's only signed for one additional year. It would be such a White Sox move to trade one, get a decent haul of prospects, but keep the other and do that annoying halfass going for it/selling thing
  14. Very sorry for your loss. Thoughts are with you
  15. QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 09:50 PM) Jose starts finally producing when it doesn't matter and people keep calling me out? Too bad he couldn't do it back when it mattered. I'll reiterate what I've previously said. Jose isn't what we thought he was. The league adjusted to him after his rookie year. He is a mid-tier first baseman. What did you think he was, then?
  16. QUOTE (He Gawn @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 10:27 PM) Statistics disagree. To be fair, there are many 2016 statistics that you can use to argue either side
  17. Around the trade deadline, it seemed like we were gonna sell. But now, with these "JR wants to win NOW!!" stories, I don't know what we're going to do. I think selling is more prudent, especially with the bleak FA market. I also envision some sort of weird buy/sell thing where we trade one of Sale/Quintana and get some package like Bradley/Benintendi/Kopech and try to win now, but then we'd just have a bad rotation. Anyway, here's what I want to happen: Chicago trades Sale, Robertson to Boston for Moncada, Benintendi, Kopech, Groome Chicago trades Quintana to Los Angeles (NL) for Urias, De Leon, Verdugo Chicago trades Cabrera, one of Abreu/Frazier (as a 1B) to Texas for Guzman, Taveras Here's what I think (and fear) will happen: Either: A: Nothing or: B: Chicago signs Edwin Encarnacion to 4-year, $110 million contract Chicago signs Kenley Jansen to 4-year, $52 million contract Chicago thinks they're contenders but finishes with anywhere between 75-85 wins
  18. Shields (back) could be shut down for season
  19. Lol
