  1. Strongly agree. Tobias, Gob, and Buster are masterpieces (not so much in Season 5 but 1-3 at least were awesome). I'm sure @Steve9347 is with us
  2. The phrase “a new start” will forever be corrupted in our minds thanks to that show.
  3. In this new landscape, our only hope of acquiring talent not currently in the organization is to trade and then extend if necessary. The FA crop is absolutely abysmal due to all the extensions, and we sure as hell won't be the high bidder for any of the leftovers.
  4. For just 2 years of someone with a mediocre track record? That seems a little heavy no?
  5. 3 RBI HBPs in one inning!
  6. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Blue Jays would prefer to trade their vets, and Stroman and TA are apparently friends now, so what do you think it would take to get him from Toronto? He's under control through the end of 2020 so we'd probably want to extend him, which should be relatively easy in this climate. He's also looking like a totally different pitcher this season (in a good way). For the next 5 or so years, we'd be looking at: Kopech Cease Stroman 2 of Lopez/Rodon/Giolito/Dunning/Hansen/Lambert etc. Is Blake Rutherford, Amado Nunez, and Jonathan Stiever too light for ~2 years of him (pre-extension)? If the money will be spent, I figured this would be a semi-realistic target to trade for and extend.
  7. Very possible. I just am mentally preparing for the general disappointment when he *doesn't* hit .400/.500/.600 right away. If he does, there's a real case to be made that he should be in the majors for the summer
  8. He's gonna be bad for a couple weeks and strike out a ton and then get in a groove and force the issue again, IMO
  9. He does need time in Charlotte, but he isn't in the same group as the other two I listed since he actually has a high ceiling
  10. If you're trying to get rid of guys with no future, then focus on Covey/Osich types and not actual prospects who throw 99 with movement
  11. In 97 career minor league games, Luis Robert has 20 HBP. Anyone know why this figure is so high? Is it his stance or just bad luck?
  12. Yes. I think he’ll be around #5 mid season and #1 in the offseason.
  13. Ironically, the FO was aggressive and proactive in the SP market, where they could have/should have waited, and they were ultra-patient in the market for elite talent, where they should have been more aggressive.
  14. Lol, did Benetti really just say that Chris Davis is "not the guy you want to have up as the tying run" unironically?
  15. Yeah Walker hasn't been getting enough love either. They're both too talented for their current assignments.
  16. 4th time Abreu has destroyed the ball, yet he's 1-4
  17. Really weird bullpen management today, even for Ricky.
  18. Leury really working that BA/OBP differential today!
