  1. QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ May 15, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) That's great, but why didn't you just say that instead of posting factually incorrect information? You said "in the month of May" several times but nothing about his last 10 games until now. Sorry. His stats page showed from 5/3 till 5/13. I thought it was the Month of May but they only show a player's last 10 games.
  2. QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ May 15, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) He's cooled down as of late, but I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. Look at your post. In his last 10 games going back to 5/3 he has hit .222.
  3. QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ May 14, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) What are you talking about? Sanchez is hitting .352 in the month of May. It's common knowledge that Sanchez has been tearing up AAA since his demotion, though he's cooled off lately, has an unsustainable BABiP, and rarely walks. Not sure what you are talking about. He tore up AAA in April. Sanchez is 10/45 in May for a .222 BA w no walks. His average in May has dropped from .407 to .344 in two weeks.
  4. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 14, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) Yea but we're trying to win this year. The FO feels we can win and I agree with them. While not overmatched at the plate, MJ's D has cost us some serious runs so far. I can think of like 10 off the top of my head and I haven't watched every game. And it's not just those plays...it's the fact that those plays have lead to our SPs having extended innings causing them to get shelled. We're going to be tight up the middle now and I think it'll be huge. CS just needs to foul off pitches with the bat and stay above .300 with the OBP. Based om his performance in May at Charlotte, hitting .222 and no walks, .300 OBP will be difficult to attain. His OBP last fall w the call-up. was .269. Hopefully he hits .250 but provides outstanding defense.
  5. This sounds like strictly a defensive change because Sanchez has been in a slump all of May. He also has a terrible BB/SO ratio but he was hitting for average early on. Sounds like Beckham will be playing a bigger role
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 13, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) It only took 6 weeks to figure they needed more defense. Well, better late than never. Now you can do the obvious thing and exchange Micah for Sanchez. Bonifacio isn't that great at 2B. I am guessing Sanchez will not be up any time soon. He is having a bad month of May both in batting average and strikeouts.
  7. I have posted on this site several times that I think the White Sox attendance issues is they do not have enough corporate sponsorship to supplement the walk up crowds. Who do you think is paying $50+ per ticket in Boston and New York? I am not even talking about corporate boxes. Businesses buy up many of the grandstand seats and use them for client and employee incentives.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 11, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) Does he miss the dugout? It's addictive and these guys have huge egos. Sox fans would worship him like Cub fans worship Maddon. Jerry will want Ozzie back. Hopefully Joey Cora is available as well.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2015 -> 12:04 AM) Sox are in no danger of moving. They'll draw 20,000 to 25000 on the average this year, so why fret? If the team ever gets good again people will come. That is assured. As long as the Sox want to remain this weird dysfunctional baseball team, Jeckyll/Hyde if you will, screw 'em. They'll still make money with the TV deal and the 20000 to 25,000 average attendance. I actually wonder if winning will solve the problem. The White Sox have been a losing team but they have 2 of the top stars of the game in Abreu and Sale. Now obviously Sale only goes every 5th day but last year Abreu was a stud and yet attendance declined. Good news is attendance is up a few thousand this year but they are still one of the worst drawing teams in baseball.
  10. Trade him for a young starting catcher and an outfielder.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 10, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) No he was not needed yesterday so he is pitching back to back days for no reason ..........called common sense HUH! If your closer can't pitch back to back, he ain't much of a closer.
  12. I see this "message" as a sign to the fans that Robin has been warned. My gut says Robin is here for the season but if improvement doesn't happen, he is gone. Management will then say that we asked RV to be more hands-on, it didn't help so we have no choice but to make a change.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 8, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) Looks like pretty bad weather heading toward the cell tonight. Wonder if it will be a long delay or a PPD Looks like Bulls game is also cancelled due to rain..................................
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 8, 2015 -> 03:28 PM) Boston fired Nieves. When are the White Sox going to show some accountability and fire their pitching coach for this hot mess? Nieves also was pitching coach when they won WS in 2013. But Boston has totally redone their staff since 2013 and not for the better. Boston media says you can't fire the pitching staff so the coach is the scapegoat.
  15. Red Sox fired Juan Nieves. Now Sox can fire Robin and name Coop interim manager and bring back Nieves as pitching coach..................................
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ May 7, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) interesting point you bring up. lets see. there are a 162 games in a season, the played including this game 26 games, that will leave 136 games, lets assume 50% wins should be a nice number, that is 68 wins, 68 plus 10 win already that should leave a record of 78. wins in a worst case scenario for the season. its a far cry from what i was predicting but i will let you decide. I predicted the Sox would be a .500 team. 78 would be a little less than that.
  17. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 7, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Again, an indication that a change should probably be made in the clubhouse. Not even those jerks at Baseball Prospectus thought they'd be this bad! Vegas predicted 81.5 for maximum wins. That would be around a .500 record whcih to me is pretty realistic.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ May 6, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) Walker has been gone three years and ZERO playoff appearances. With Walker World Series WIN! Is playoffs and world series the best way to judge the effectiveness of an individual coach? Yes. Ozzie, coop and walker should have been given contracts for life.............................................................
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 4, 2015 -> 08:49 AM) On the subject of ineffective Managers, the Brewers just fired Ron Roenicke. Add him to the list of available manager candidates.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) Well, they're definitely not going to fire Hahn or replace 10-12 players in the middle of the season. Agree but this is a lot worse than mental mistakes. You have a bunch of key players unperforming. Starting pitching and the offense both are lousy. Funny but the defense has actually been better than the last 2 years and the bullpen has done a good job.
  21. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) I wana see a new manager. I think we have contending team they just need managed and coached better. They make way too many mental mistakes. That's on the manager. In the prediction thread I think many of us predicted this team would not make the playoffs. They are worst than expected though. But when you have the worst offensive team in the AL in numerous categories, that is not mental mistakes.
  22. QUOTE (LDF @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:21 AM) wow, nice word.... i got to look that one up. The problem with firing a manager in the middle of a season, is that you are mostly limited to in-house replacements or guys out of jobs. Even guys out of jobs are going to want some security for a few years to right the ship. Now there could be someone w a ton of baggage out of a job and then the Sox would have some leverage. The other problem with an interim manager is it could have a negative impact on the young players. Having 3 managers in the course of a year telling a young player to do 3 different things can be a big problem with certain players. As far as Cooper goes, he should not be the interim. He needs to stay focused on the young pitchers. My guess is that if the Sox bring in a new manager next year, he may want his own pitching coach. I think the best bet is you ride Robin out for the year and make a change in the offseason. Certainly a team w Abreu, Sale and Rodon alone will attract some quality candidates.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 10:43 PM) Well, the counterargument to that is Matheny and Ausmus...but it just seems catchers always make the best managers. Not surprisingly, catching is one of the team's most glaring weaknesses, ever since AJ left. AJ is available and he is the opposite personality wise of Robin. Since he ia a catcher, he should be named manager. It certainly would generate some wild scenes in the clubhouse.
  24. Would have liked to see Beckham get the start since he has been one of the few who has been hot offensively.
  25. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) Sox are worst team in AL right now not even close. Minnesota is the worst team in AL right now not even close.
