  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 07:01 PM) He had excellent command and control. Was working ahead and down in the zone mostly. Fastball was sitting at 87-89 but he didn't need a heater today had a very good breaking ball. Awesome. Thanks for filing me in. Hopefully his velocity comes around as his arm strengthens up.
  2. Gotta love it. 4 games into the season and there's already been 3 White Sox winner threads. Didn't see the game so I'll have to check the highlights later on the Sox site. How did Latos look? All I have to go by for the moment is the box score.
  3. According fangraphs, Graveman throws alot of sinkers (49.4% ) so having the GB happy A.Garcia in the lineup would seem to be more helpful to the A's than Sox. Avi should have had the day off, not Jackson.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 09:04 AM) So Scott Carroll is the pitcher mirroring Mat Latos at AAA. I thought Fulmer was going to start OD for Birmingham? Hmmmmm, maybe he is going to mirror Danks? The plot thickens.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 06:12 AM) I wonder how many people called this during the draft thread. Ha ha, definitely not me. IIRC, I wanted Kolek. D'OH!
  6. Sometimes ya just got to tip your cap when a pitcher of Sonny Gray's caliper beats you.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/04/marl...ml?fv-home=true I wish the kid well but I am greatful to the Marlins for passing on Rodon. Credit the Sox for drafting Spencer Adams (#26 overall) whom had a better '15 season than Kolek (#2 overall) and is Winston-Salem's #1 starter this year.
  8. Don't know who Chance is but if he's a Sox fan and can help put more butts in the seats then I'm all for it.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) I still am of the belief that it will be a good deal by all accounts for the Giants and his final line was more than solid. Talk about overreaction here. Samardzija's first start for the Giants went much better than his first start for the Sox last year so technically it's a step in the right direction for Samardzija. I think the Sox did dodge a bullet but today's start wasn't all that bad either.
  10. Gonna keep beating the LaRoche horse til it's dead, bloated and smelling like the Rose somebody gave me on my birthday deathbed.
  11. Jacob May with Zagari, Adams and Guerrero right behind him.
  12. I like that the Sox have payroll to work with and it should come in handy when June and July comes around. Thanks LaRoche! Sox family first.
  13. That was pretty dumb on Bautista's part and blatantly obvious.
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) Music to my ears! There's not a narrative in baseball more annoying than "Royals magic". No doubt. I'm pretty sick of anything to do with the Royals. Tired of hearing Hawk's " Kansas City Special " nonsense too. Uhg, again, f*** the Royals!
  15. Thor dropped his hammer on the Royals today. The Royals are now 1-1. f*** you KC!
  16. QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) I agree they aren't that impressive but he gutted out a serious obliques injury and some hamstring issues. And yes he needs more time but to the other poster's response i don't think we have to give up someone at the major league level to get him. First the Cubs don't need anything lineup wise right now and from i read they do some some minor league pitching issues due to injury and ineffectiveness. Again it's not going to happen but i would take a run at him now in case he does explode and has a great year in the minors and becomes a hot prospect. Those injuries could explain the lack of power from such a big guy. The important thing is that he has a very good eye and the power could/should come in time. The cubs system is short on pitching so maybe they would bite on a kid like Jordan Guerrero? Guerrero is about one year behind Vogelbach as far as development goes but their values should be somewhat close.
  17. Price is mowing down some Indians today with 10K through 6IP.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) In Chicago, the outlook is a lot more certain. So much so, you can almost see the anvil about to be dropped on the coyotes head. Yep, same here with cub fans I've talked to. Playing the regular season games is just a formality.
  19. Didn't realize this area had become so anal over its caffeinated drinks. I've heard it referred to as soda and pop and some say soda pop. Maybe things changed since I stopped drinking it.
  20. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) I agree, I'd like the pickup but I wouldn't expect much from him in 2016. Yep. Vogelbach needs more time to see if his power develops and to see how he handles AAA pitching this year. His .272 BA, 7HR in 313 PA's for AA last year aren't that impressive. Not trying to knock the guy, just needs more time is all. Would love to have him in the Sox system.
  21. I'm all for getting Vogelbach but he's not MLB ready yet and in fact has not played above AA.
  22. Beckham, Flower, AJ and Grilli on the same team? Yep, the Braves are surely tanking!
