6/17 Games
Ranaudo looking damn good again. 8IP 5H 0R 2BB 2K 98 pitches with 68 strikes. Ranaudo is pounding the strike zone since joining the Sox.

Season Preview - 2016 Great Falls Voyagers
As usual, great work by FS getting prospect info out there for us fans. Lots of names worthy of keeping an eye on.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 06:33 PM) I hope Ranaudo turns it around with the Sox. He's doing ok so far. Ranaudo's stats are much better since coming to the Sox, especially his BB rate. Miguel Gonzalez better watch out for Ranaudo.

2016 Draft picks thread
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) Curbelo is definitely signing. It's already been indicated basically. They would not have taken him in the top 10 rounds if he wasn't signing. That's good news. Hickman is supposedly close to signing so maybe the Sox get both Curbelo and Hickman.

2016 Draft picks thread
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) I thought that Call would be under slot. How the hell are they signing Hickman and Curbelo? I thought so too. Maybe the Sox anticipate only being able to sign one of Hickman/Curbelo? Hopefully the 200k+ the Sox have saved will be enough to sign both for above slot value. I think Curbelo will be a tough signing.

Jose Reyes
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 09:11 AM) Not really fans in general, but a very small group of fans. Yeah, my post was a bit generalized. It is a small group of fans. For SS, I'll take Anderson/Saladino over Reyes any time. As for DH, Reyes does not have enough power for that spot in the order and the Sox are lacking power from the DH as it is. Reyes makes no sense for the Sox, period.

Alex Call sings for slot value of $719,100. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/184...-with-alex-call

Anderson is one HR short of the cycle.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 09:05 PM) You are right, runs allowed is not nearly as important as strikeouts. Junior Guerra is awesome and will remain so for years, Of course Guerra is awesome. He pitches in a league that has no DH and half of their teams are rebuilding.

Conclusive argument against Avi in RF
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 08:59 PM) That is one of the worst fluff pieces I have ever seen. Scott Merkin should be embarrassed. I hear ya. Fluff piece is why I could not resist posting the article in this thread. I think the article is good for a laugh.

Conclusive argument against Avi in RF
Lol, no worries because all is well. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/184...utfield-defense See, nothing to panic about when it comes to Avi's defense.

If you could add 1 player to this team.....
Since the Sox are offensively challenged, I'd go with either Trout or Harper for that one addition to the team. However, adding a pitcher like Kershaw would not be wrong...

Jose Reyes
Wow, Sox fans have become quite desperate in their hero worship. Jose Reyes... really?

Why Not Aramis Ramirez?
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) BUT WHERE WOULD HE PLAY Dave Mustaine or Aramis Ramirez?

***Official MLB Draft 2016 Day 3 Thread***
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) We all know Guillens can't be counted on to show up for work. This is so true. Guillen's are either drunk, hung over or busy talking smack about the Sox on twitter to get some attention.

Appreciation Thread for Future Sox
No love for FS? This thread is a great idea. I think all the writers for FS do a great job of getting info out there on Sox prospects. I definitely appreciate their hard work.

***Official MLB Draft 2016 Day 3 Thread***
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) That's right. Thanks for fixing that. For the FS people out there, any of the late HS picks worth being excited about? I know we drafted our future grounds keeper in the 31st round, but other than that? Wait, you mean the Sox drafted another Guillen or Williams offspring?

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
Shields has been on the mound so long that Scherzer might have to throw a side session just to stay warmed up.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) I wonder what Rick Hahn is doing right now. Answering texts from JR that begin with, "WTF, Rick!?".

White Sox Acquire James Shields
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) Padres fans are livid at the move. Your review is the best I've seen. Tatis hasn't been played SS since he came to states. Media doesn't know the granular stuff. Thanks for clarifying raBBit. Was Tatis moved to 3B? QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) I would just say, "poop"... But since a single post with that single word is banished forever... I've as such expounded with futile reason and as such, justify saying... Poop. POOP! There, I said it. Is it safe to assume that Shields will make his debut Tuesday against the Nat's? Sale today, Q Sunday, day off Monday and Shields on Tuesday makes sense.

White Sox Acquire James Shields
Kudos to Dave for calling this. I thought it was BS when the rumor surfaced but I was wrong. Though I didn't want to trade for Shields I'm not happy or angry about this trade, just going to wait and see how Shields pitches. Sucks losing a young SS prospect in Tatis but I won't miss the 4A pitcher EJ.

2016 MLB Draft
Anyone think the Sox and Ray pull off what Houston and Cameron did in the '15 draft?

Matt Albers crushed an opposite-field double
Genius move by RV telling Frazier to hit a HR to tie the game and for batting Albers because RV just KNEW Albers was over due. Sheer brilliance! RV for manager of the year!
