QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Oh, s*** Moancada ++ for Q is what I'm liking to hear depending on what the ++ is. whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 1h1 hour ago Chicago, IL Were Red Sox fans as emotionally attached to Anthony Renaudo and Kolbrin Vitec as they are Yoan Moncada? Haha! We got Ranaudo as well! Make one of those +'s Benintendi and I really start to like the idea. Edit: Keystone Light is good stuff.

QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 02:21 AM) You would think the Pirates would be in on Sale. They have enough pieces in the minor leagues to make a really solid offer and they are in need of a true ace. You put Sale and Cole at the front end of the rotation and they are serious contenders for the next three seasons. Going by the Pirates history, it's no surprise they aren't in on Sale.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 08:09 AM) Probably but I'd at least ask. No doubt. I don't think Nimmo/Wheeler is too far off but if it is the Sox could offer a reliever (Duke?) with Frazier.
-
Would Nimmo and Wheeler be too much for Frazier?

After accepting that DD cannot afford Sale or Q with out giving up any of Boston's most prized prospects, I can see DD going Dave Chappelle on Rick Hahn asking " How much for just one Miguel Gonzalez?".

Please Pray & Think of Knightni's Little Boy
BlackSox13 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am extremely sorry to hear about your son Knightni. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Hopefully the lil guy keeps fighting. -
Call has been great but let's not forget about Schnurbusch who's been tearing it up something fierce in GF. Imho, both should be at Winston-Salem with Collins.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:58 PM) I don't understand what the big fuss is about his statements. He took responsibility, said there was regret on his end, expressed no continued ill will, and still believes in his underlying concern. ^This sums it up best^ I don't like the childish side of Sale and for me it has gotten old but I like his comments. f*** it, if he can move on from it then so can I.

Anthony Ranaudo starting vs. Cubs on Wednesday

QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:42 AM) http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/191...o-to-face-cubs/ This is a good move by the Sox. Ranaudo deserves this shot. Absolutely agree. Who knows, the Sox might need him to fill a spot in the rotation if a team ponies up for Sale or Q. -
So Sale got into a clubhouse altercation with the uniforms eh. I didn't realize Sale had such fashion sense. Maybe Sale should host a new MLB TV show called, "Say Yes to the Uni". Time for Sale to trade his knickers in for a fresh pair of big boy pants and stop acting like a toddler.

White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:28 AM) Lawrie's an okay player, but there's nothing special about him; if some team really wants him, which I doubt, trade him. Saladino could deliver what he delivers, if not more. Jake Peter's looking excellent in AAA. Not really hurting at 2b. Sox need to move on this. There are only a few teams that need each position. The good news is that the Sox have something for everyone. Starters, relievers, infielders, and outfielders. No catchers thought, sorry. But they can't do their usual screwing around, taking days to make decisions...and they have to eat salary. Right now, Robertson, Jones and Duke should be front and center. Even if they don't want to completely tear down, take advantage of bullpen premiums available this time of year and only this time of year. Jones is a big sell high opportunity. Yep, Robertson, Jones, Duke and add Frazier, Abreu. I'm fine with Lawrie but if a team makes a nice offer then wave good-bye. If Rodon can get his health and his pitching back on track for the remainder of the season he could make for a nice alternative to trading Q or Sale this winter. Teams would line up to trade for 5 years of control over Rodon and his cheap salary (for now) which just opens up his trade market to even more teams during the off season, a bidding war. -
That's awesome Balta and thanks for posting. I didn't know Fox could play guitar that well.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 07:05 PM) I am in the same boat. I'm with you and daggins. The right haul for Sale should bring back enough talent to help the team now and in the future while keeping Q to head the rotation.

Sox have been aggressive with promotions this year no doubt. I didn't think Danish was worthy of moving to Charlotte but he has held his own so far. Fulmer and Anderson were also aggressive promotions. The aggressive pitching promotions make me wonder if they are tied with recent rumors about the Sox potentially moving a SP or two. Anyway, glad to see Adams get promoted.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Considering the scouting and development you may die before that happens. Not at all. The Sox scouting and development has been much better the last few years.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 03:12 AM) Uh. Yea. And I have been known to say poop from time to time. That's it! You're suspended until further notice. No poop for you, come back one year. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) Agreed. It's kind of annoying. Why post that they're interesting in selling if you're not posting the specifics? Yeah, he's stating the obvious really. This is the time of year when all teams are getting calls about their players' availability. I will give Dave credit though. He's been pretty accurate since getting burned over the winter by the Cespedes/Sox rumors. Should be interesting to see what names/teams Dave drops when the time comes.

Sox trade Scott Carroll to Rangers for Cash considerations
BlackSox13 replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Once again, Hahn and KW fail the fans by not getting true market value for Carroll. Is Brinson for Carroll to much to ask for? WTF! -
For the sake of the rumor mill, it would be nice if Dave would drop some team names and players just so we have something to nibble on while we wait for the deadline.

I don't know if the other stuff is true or not but I believe the part that JR wants to win now and is the reason why the FO keeps pushing for a winner. Has there ever been an 80 year old owner that went full rebuild on their team? I love the idea of trading away assets to rebuild and as a fan, yes I would easily endure the growing pains of a youth movement but I just don't think it will happen due to JR's age and desire to have one last winner. The SOX are stuck at the Nexus of the universe with JR.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) Frazier's the guy who will bring something back. Abreu has Rios numbers right now. I just can't get over getting Vogelbach for a middle reliever. I know he has no real position, but we are a bit lacking at DH. That's org building without even really selling. Hahn and Williams need to be looking around and open for business now. They're slow decision makers as it is, but it's time for them to face reality. Funny you mention Vogelbach. Yesterday I was looking at his numbers and realized he's having a hell of a year so far. Not long ago someone was clamouring for the Sox to acquire Vogelbach and I kinda laughed but Vogelbach is hitting well enough to get a call up right now and sadly the SOX could use a LH high OBP bat. Like you, I can't get over how all it took to acquire Vogelbach was a MR. Shame the Sox couldn't have picked up Vogelbach somehow. Then again, why would the cubs want to help the Sox with their offensive woes.

I'm impressed with the late movement on Fulmer's cutter. Looks like he acclimated to the cutter pretty quick.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 19, 2016 -> 06:57 PM) Yet another insightful comment but the Longoria contract is HUGE . He is signed through 2022 with a team option for 2023 .From 2017 to 2022 his contract has $94M left on it plus whatever is left on his $11.5 M this year if/when he is traded. He is also been injury prone. Why anyone, even the Dodgers, would want that is beyond me. Frazier on the other hand is arbitration eligible next year. this year he makes $8.25M so lets say he gets $10M in arb next year plus whatever is left over from this year if the trade is made. Lets call it $14M for a year+ of Frazier in age 30-31 vs. 6+ maybe $98M for Longoria in his age 30-36 years. Throw in Longoria's history of injuries . $84M difference to get a better player this year and next seems a very steep price to pay. But it's the Dodgers so they have money to burn . But they did bring in Andrew Friedman to supposedly stop some of that free wheeling spending. Yep, I cannot think of any playoff contenders that would not be interested in Frazier's 26HR and 59RBI. If I had to chose between Longoria and Frazier, I would chose Frazier every time because that Longoria contract is an albatross.

Adam Engel - just promoted to AAA, and we interviewed him

Great stuff as I've come to expect from FS. So what happens with May? Does May shift to LF or can we expect to see May with the Sox as a 4th outfielder? -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Bregman, Reed, McCullers, Martes, and Tucker. Who says no to that: the Sox or the Astros? That's a huge haul even for Sale. A more fair deal for both sides might look like Sale/Frazier to Houston for Bregman/Reed/McCullers/Martes/Tucker.
