    Lawrie

QUOTE (hi8is @ May 1, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) Balls to the wall, 100% intensity, team playing, grab the bull by the horns with complete focus in every moment, fully sleeved tattoo maniac. Oh OK, a hipster!

QUOTE (hi8is @ May 1, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Dude embodies who I would be if my career went to the MLB level. Every aspect of his character on the diamond is a carbon copy of the hi8is way. You mean the kind, loving hippie-go lucky tree-hugging nature type?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2016 -> 08:52 PM) The White Sox are on his no trade list, even without getting into that horrible contract he has. Same for his age and off season back surgery. I still cling to hope that the Sox can find in-house options for the 5th starter and potential holes at SS and DH. Would hate to pay trade deadline prices. Good thing is that it's only May so the Sox have plenty of time to explore in-house options.
  4. Looks as though May and Anderson are adapting to the level of competition at AAA. Their stats have been on the rise lately so that's encouraging.
  5. Here you go gents... http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/...urtney-hawkins/ Out until at least May 6th with an oblique injury. I remember when the Big Hurt struggled with an oblique injury, took him a while to get back to 100%. Have to wonder about Hawkins' conditioning since it seems he has one injury after another.

    Lawrie

Another great thing about Lawrie is that there's no love lost between he and the Royals.

    Lawrie

QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ May 1, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) This pretty much sums it up for me. His attitude is huge for me. It seems like the guy is always celebrating or reacting to every single play. Maybe I'll get sick of it after a while, but it's so nice to see a player who looks like they legitimately care. I don't see how anyone can really be upset with how he's produced either - extremely solid so far, especially hitting out of the 6th spot. He's warmed up, that's for sure. I think the last three days has been a bit of insight into his un-tapped power potential some of us speculated he had. He can certainly turn on a high FB and launch it out of the park real quick. Dude has some serious bat speed.

    Lawrie

I love Lawrie's attitude, enthusiasm and energy. Much better than the lifeless dead clubhouse last year. I was a big fan of acquiring Lawrie when the idea was just a rumor and like the trade even more now.
  9. Also happy to see Sanchez get a start. Kid is only 23 so its possible there's still some un-tapped potential.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:30 PM) We can drop it, but there's no way you have been "proven right." Like I said, Eaton has been one of the team MVPs thus far. He came out of the gate aggressive, not acting at all like he was knocked down by the new blood on the team that wanted LaRoche's kid out. Frazier was not hitting at all the first two weeks and the team was winning. Lawrie was good with some key hits and defensive plays but his average was around .220 for a good while. Jackson was under .200 for a while (albeit doing some nice things) and Rollins not exactly hitting like a Hall of Famer and we were still winning. Yes I like them all but arguably Eaton, who lost the LaRoche battle, has even been more consistent than anybody mentioned as "new blood." Happy the White Sox are winning, but don't agree it's all because of the new blood. They haven't taken the mound once. The pitching has been old blood plus Latos. Rodon is new blood sort of but has been around a while. Bullpen is old blood too. It's too simplistic to give all the credit to the guys u and Rock mentioned. Even when Frazier, Lawrie, Jackson and Rollins aren't hitting, it's their energy and enthusiasm that makes the difference this season in comparison to a very lethargic clubhouse last season. Last year it looked more like a clubhouse of the walking dead. This year's clubhouse has new life thanks to those players which is exactly what the FO office was trying to accomplish during the off season and IMHO, they succeeded. The biggest differences between last year and this year are those four players and better pitching ( despite Danks). Without their contributions, how many wins would this team have? Certainly not 17. So far Frazier, Lawrie, Jackson and Rollins have contributed 21 2B, 1 3B, 11 HR's and 38 RBI to a team that sorely lacked offense last year and lets not forget about their defensive contributions.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) Oh. I get you. Thing is, Eaton had a big part in that win as well. The two warring factions seem to be getting along well enough. Eaton's bunt was one of the biggest plays in the game as well as the two homers you mentioned. No doubt, Eaton has been a very good contributor with the glove, arm and bat. To me, it looks like any beefs over the LaRoche saga are a thing of the past. These guys look to be getting along rather well and it's the energy of the new leadership from Frazier, Lawrie, Jackson and Rollins that has made a big difference. The clubhouse is rejuvenated.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) Is this a joke? I didn't see the humor. I guess you were mocking the situation and praising Eaton for taking the right side on that issue. The players who hated Eaton over that should be liking him now. That was a great bunt, a true team-oriented way to get on base and that catch in right was a hand-woof-em as Hawk would say. Nice grab. And yet it was HR's by Lawrie and Frazier ( leadership regime) that kept the Sox in the game tonight. Pretty sure that's what Rock is referring to.
  13. Nice to see the hitting bail out the pitching tonight. I feel pretty good about getting a four game split with Sale on mound Sunday.
  14. Talk about over reacting, lol. Danks had nothing to do with tonight's game. Danks didn't create the errors, Danks didn't pitch for Rodon and Danks was not responsible for the lack of offense tonight either. I'd like to be rid of Danks but let's be realistic when it comes to holding players accountable.
  15. Tough game, f*** it. The Sox have Latos and Sale pitching the next two games so I like the Sox chances of leaving Baltimore with a four game split making them 5-2 on the road trip. I'll happily take 5-2. Even good teams have bad games, it happens.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) Shades of Jim Parque near the end...will never forget that four homer game by Mike Cameron. Neither will I because I was at that game. As for Danks, yep he's about done. Time to move on and see if one of Turner, EJ or Gonzalez can step up.
  17. Basto and Delmonico making more noise tonight.
  18. Anyone else ready to give EJ a shot or Gonzalez another shot?
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Man you are just going around in circles. You have an idea, but you only seem to want to attack anyone who tries to fill in all of your blanks with some common sense. Who do you actually think we would need to give up in this deal, and why do we need to do it now if it doesn't help us at all this year? That's the part of the discussion I do not understand. Trade for a young and promising prospect in Vogelbach because his high BA/OBP could help the Sox now and yet won't cost much to acquire from a cross-town rival? If Vogelbach is good enough to help the Sox now, his cost will not be cheap, especially to a cross-town rival. I don't get it.
  20. With yet another Danks implosion happening as we post, it might be a better idea to look at starting pitchers available instead of an MiLB 1B/DH that has yet to see his power fully develop in the minors and is in his first season at AAA.
  21. But but, Q is not an ace! The Sox pitching staff stats are just obscene!
  22. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 08:59 PM) Another shutout This is exactly what I was going to post. WOW!
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) Do they have a cheat code? Cano$240M Unlocks super-user permissions to enter "Steinbrenner mode".
  24. Keep making the game threads Chicago White Sox! This is fun!!!
