  1. With one out you hold him at 3rd plus that was a perfect throw by Meadows.
  2. TA was really in high gear scoring from first on Robert's double.
  3. Yep, since he doesn't seem like he's much of a long ball guy anymore and since he switch hits I'd like to see him bat second. That plus Hernandez isn't reminding me of Nellie Fox or even Ray Dutham.
  4. Because Glasnow is out probably until 2023 with TJS.
  5. Watch out for Brandon Lowe, not a big guy but hits the crap out of the ball, 29 homers so far this year.
  6. We have lived in Florida since 1993 and you are right on how much more developed it has become especially SW Florida. When we moved to Nalpes in 93 it was a ghost town in the summer with empty restaurants and very little traffic, now its busy all 4 seasons of the year with January through April insanely busy.
  7. Florida weather is in the eyes of the resident, if you play golf like I do 4 days a week its beautiful in morning as we tee off at 8 and usually finish by 11:30. It gets hotter and by noon it's in the 90s and humid and then the afternoon showers pop up around 3 or 4pm. Its like this everyday from June through Sept, 92-94 for the highs and 70 -72 for the lows. October rolls around and all of a sudden the showers end and the humidity disappears. Best all around months are April, May, October and November. None of this has anything to do with Rays Baseball as they play in a dome.
  8. Ybor city would be fine also. Have you read about that recently as there was talk about that a few years ago. I cant see a scenario where Tampa Bay and Montreal share the Rays as a viable solution as there has been talk about that.
  9. There might be more, Red Sox series had some decent crowds but the only way the Rays stay in the Tampa Bay area is if a new stadium is built near Downtown Tampa or even near Raymond James Stadium. They can't surrive in St. Pete.
  10. A shame that injuries screwed him up, I always thought that he could have really been a great closer.
  11. We try to see a Sox game every year when they visit St. Petersburg and Troplcana Field. Its actually a very good place to watch a game, nice clean stadium and you won't get hassled by Rays fans for wearing Sox jerseys or caps. The only drawback is those damn rings but in all the games we've attended at the Trop we have never seen a ball hit a ring, have seen many while watching TV as I don't miss many Rays games on the tube. With so few fans at games it's amazing how loud it gets in there, in 2008 when the Sox made the playoffs and the Rays knocked us out in the first round we saw a game in July or August and there were 36,000 in the place and it was a madhouse and as loud as the old Chicago Stadium would get for a Blackhawks game.
  12. We were planning on attending Saturday's game and even though we are vaccinated the Covid Delta strain has freaked us out so will watch it on TV. Should be a good series, the Rays are scoring a lot of runs but I like our chances tonight with Wacha on the bump for the Rays.
  13. Reminding me of Herb Score getting hit by a liner of the bat of Gil McDougald back in 1957. Score was never the same and finished his career with the Sox in 1962.
  14. Living in Florida I follow the Rays and watch most of their games and the TV announcers are not traveling with the team for road games. The broadcasts sometimes don't work as the guys in the studio just can't see all thats going on.
  15. When did Luery suffer the concussion?
  16. Three times, it was great but I watched Joe Crede's against the Indians when our lead was down IIRC to 1 1/5 games in 2005 probably 10 times.
  17. Had no idea Hundley caught that many games in 69 but I do know I relished every second of the Cubs fading down the stretch, there were a lot of Brickhouse "oh brothers" in September.
  18. I went with Rodon, I'm just hoping he can come back from this latest setback.
  19. So sad to hear this news. Will never forget his first season with the Hawks, rookie of the year with 15 shutouts as he led the Hawks from last to first in the 1969-70 season. RIP Tony-0 and thanks for so many great memories.
  20. I thought last Sunday's WO win would do it but then we go and lose the series to the crappy Royals.
  21. Those 3 need to wake up and start hitting. They've been in slumps for 2 weeks.
  22. Will the White Sox be wearing 1917 unis?
