  1. When JR dies, who exactly would take over, would it one of the other investors? I'm not sure if JR's son would automatically take over. Either way, I would love to see new ownership of the franchise.
  2. It looks that way especially Moncada, I've never been a fan of his and he has taken the place of Claudell Washington as my most despised Sox player in my 70 years as a fan of the team. I will be extremely happy when somehow the Sox dump this piece of garbage on some other team.
  3. The old adage is, "you can never have enough pitching".
  4. Exactly my thoughts.
  5. I originally said yes but now we lost our best player for who knows how long so now it has to be no.
  6. JR and Eddie Einhorn when he was alive were against spending big money on the Minor Leagues and on player development, they didn't care to spend money on potential.
  7. Moncada is a fucking loser.
  8. Agree but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
  9. What could we get for him, he's constantly an injury waiting to happen.
  10. We follow sports as an escape from the rest of the BS in the world, I hate how politics has now become part of the sports world.
  11. Moncada might become insurance for Burger, a very high priced insurance.
  12. The franchise needs a complete housecleaning starting with a new owner. There is a reason this franchise has been mediocre for 41 years and its starts at the top. Of course we did win it all in 2005 but you have to look at the whole enchilada, even when the team wins an occasional division title it falls flat on it's face in the playoffs.
  13. I don't believe in curses but the 2022 White Sox are cursed.
  14. By the hair of their chinny chin chin.
  15. I thought I heard early June, he probably will have 2 starts in Charlotte.
  16. That's a pretty good rotation, hope they perform up to expectations but they're going to need help from the offense. This isn't the 50's and 60's when the Sox won on pitching and defense.
  17. That's what I'm thinking or could be that Harrison is next to be DFA.
  18. In late May the 83 Sox were 18-26 and from that point on played like gangbusters going 81-37, the best stretch of baseball I ever saw the Sox play since I became a fan in 1952. There is still hope for this bunch based on their track record, let's hope they remember how to hit pretty damn soon..
  19. Living on the Gulf Coast of Florida, I watch the Rays just about every game and I agree that somebody in their front office knows exactly what they're doing. They have a knack of constantly making the right moves, they have had me scratching my head when they trade stars like Longoria and Meadows and going back to Carl Crawford but they always come out smelling like roses with other players. Year after year they have had pretty strong bullpens and reliable starting pitching and all this is done on the cheap.
  20. We all know who is in charge, 41 years of horrible ownership with so many many bad moves, from alienating Harry Caray to the White Flag trade to tearing down a great old ballpark and then building a horrible ballpark in the wrong neighborhood and countless other gaffes with hiring TLR as one of the worst. BTW I will give credit for the remake of the ballpark back in 2004, they did a pretty good job without tearing the whole place down but in survey after survey it's still near the bottom of the best ballparks list, IIRC the highest I've ever seen it rated is 18th.
  21. I hated the Kimbrel trade as I was a big Nicky 2 strikes fan. The trade made no sense as we had a closer in Hendriks who was pretty damn good last year. I liked the addition of Tepera but not at the expense of Madrigal, but then we didn't resign Tepera and we sure could use him with the performance of the bullpen this year.
  22. No you are not delusional, I felt the same way. The handwriting was on the wall in the second half of last year, we needed upgrades at 2B and RF and those needs were not addressed. If the front offtice felt that Harrison and Pollock were the upgrades, it's they that are delusional.
  23. Claudell Washington, he slept here.
