  1. Anybody could hit better than Amaya, he’s at .087, bring up Montgomery and throw him out there everyday and let him sink or swim. We can’t do worse with this 5-19 juggernaut.
  2. I went to one of their last games in Chicago in 1959. After playing at Comiskey Park for years for some reason they played at Soldier Field for their last season in Chicago. After all these years and now being in Arizona I still have a very small spot in my heart for the Cards. BTW Papa Bear Halas never did the Cards any favors when they were in Chicago.
  3. Just curious, has any White Sox hitting coach fixed someone.
  4. There are just no words to describe the state of the franchise, everything to be said has been said many many times on these and other White Sox forums, we have choices, living in Florida I’ve become a fan of the Rays but they aren’t in my DNA like the Sox but I’m so very close to giving up on a team that I have lived and died with for 73 years, sometimes as I’m watching loss after loss, tears come to my eyes but then I change gears and so much hate starts coming out of me for Reinsdorf and what he has done to our team. I just can’t see the franchise and team becoming legitimate contenders again as the man refuses to do what it takes to win in this day and age, when he hired Getz, that was the handwriting on the wall. How much more of this can White Sox fans take, what is happening to the fan base, by the time this team can contend again, will there be any fans left that really care, I’m not sure.
  5. If 30,000 show up one day and everyone has a sign, I’d love to see them try to confiscate them all.
  6. He’s a pimp.
  7. That’s exactly what’s happening in regards to deliberately alienating what’s left of the fan base. I truly believe we are seeing the last days of the franchise in Chicago.
  8. A fish rots from the head.
  9. Yep, it’s really been hard to be a Sox fan the last 3 years. The only reason I haven’t given up is the hope of new ownership and hopefully very soon.
  10. This offense is worse than last year, Getz has given us another year of AAA baseball.
  11. Musical chairs, the never ending story.
  12. Yesterday Vaughn looked like he didn’t have a clue at the plate, swinging at pitches way out of the zone. I wonder what players really work on in spring training that they are this bad when the actual season starts.
  13. Great point about the climb, we sat in row 29 the night the Sox clinched the division against Seattle in 1993, we never left our seats until the game was over.
  14. Exactly, from what I’ve seen it looks like plenty of the new parks have upper decks just as high and steep as the Rate, 2 exceptions are Comerica and PNC in PIttsburgh which IMO is the best of them all. Anyone remember how steep the second balcony was at old Chicago Stadium, no one ever complained as you were right on top of the action, best place ever to watch a hockey game and where the die hard fans sat.
  15. I’m not sure how to feel about this as I believe a former employee probably shouldn’t knock his former employer as you never know what will happen down the road. That being said with the White Sox being what they have been the last 3 years we are in uncharted territory with the franchise in free fall and with an owner who deserves all the bad things that have been said about him as they are probably the most dysfunctional organization in pro sports and I’m sure just about any player can’t wait to be traded away from this mess.
  16. Back in the day Wrigley had one thing that Sox Park didn’t, Oscar Mayer Smokie Links but Comiskey if you were willing to pay the extra 25 cents had Vienna Kosher Hot Dogs.
  17. Exactly, the 121 losses record is in jeopardy.
  18. The problem is the man has no pride at all.
  19. Yes, he was a part of the problem but as far as the White Sox being behind other organizations, he is spot on, this is the most dysfunctional organization in professional sports and it all starts with the stubborn POS owner.
  20. With the garbage on this team, does it really matter.
  21. Then just sit his sorry ass at the end of the bench for a month or so.
  22. This is just me but we moved out to Bloomingdale and then Wheaton in DuPage county in the early 70s and let me tell you it was a lot easier getting up to bet on the nags at Arlington Park then to get to old and new Comiskey. We moved to Florida in 1993 so I’m not sure how the traffic patterns have changed but I would guess that the many Sox fans who live in the SW suburbs wouldn’t have a problem if the Sox moved to Arlington Heights. The fans who would be hurt most would are probably those who live in the South burbs and NW Indiana along with those who live in the city and rely on the CTA to get to places but the Metro NW commuter line stops at the Arlington Park site so I don’t see much of a problem there for city fans.
  23. If they wind up with only around 30 wins then the Commissioner should step in and force JR to sell much the same way that Charlie Finley was not allowed to complete a trade where he traded away most of the Oakland A’s back in 1976 citing as it wasn’t in the best interest of Baseball. It’s obvious the Sox are again fielding a AAA team with JR refusing to spend money and put together a competitive club which upsets the competitive balance in the game, if this isn’t a detriment and not in the best interest to the game, I don’t know what is.
  24. Not going to happen until new ownership.
