  1. New guy prepares, informs and talks about the backgrounds of players on both team. I love Hawk. I don't love Hawk talking about Yaz, Sam McDowell and Don Drysdale.
  2. the walk-off grand slam by Hayes who was hitting under .080 was nearly as improbable as the Triple Play.
  3. Nice job. good questions. Well done. Seems like a solid kid who understands what he needs to do to stay on track. Didn't realize he got $1 million to sign. With that much invested in him, the Sox will give him every opportunity to succeed.
  4. Be nice to see better command from Fulmer.
  5. Still no Anderson?
  6. Don't hear much buzz about Jake Peter but he's been pretty solid everywhere he's played. Looks like a good utility infield prospect if he doesn't do enough to start at 2B.
  7. He's over .300 as of Tuesday at Birmingham. Watched him in college. He's sure-handed and gets good reads. Arm is good, not great. Plays the game with the football mentality. He was a high school quarterback in suburban Cincinnati.
  8. Isn't Zavala 0-16 with 11 Ks? Straight outta the Tyler Flowers' playbook.
  9. The Charlotte paper ignores the Knights on the road and the team website is simply irresponsible by not saying anything about the team's best prospect.
  10. The Charlotte paper has no story on the game or Anderson's absence. Game was played in Durham. That paper has a pay only site. the knights' team site makes no mention of Anderson not playing. anybody else find word on Anderson?
  11. no problem. Believe he is the guy who pitched in tandem with Fulmer last season at Winston Salem. He's only given up one home run in 139 pro innings. Worth a look.
  12. I'll go off the radar with ... Brian Clark. seems to throws strikes and get outs. I can see him making his way to the bullpen by the middle of the season. always room for a quality lefty.
  13. AL EAST -- Blue Jays CENTRAL -- Royals WEST -- Astros WC -- Red Sox, Mariners NL EAST -- Nationals CENTRAL -- CUBS WEST -- GIANTS WC -- Mets, Pirates AL Champs -- Astros NL Champs -- Giants WS --- Giants over Astros AL MVP -- Trout AL CY YOUNG -- Archer AL ROOKIE -- Buxton NL MVP -- Harper NL CY YOUNG -- Baumgarner NL ROOKIE -- Seager
  14. The Dodgers' telecast is on the mlb app or MLB.com
  15. A plus for Trayce Thompson.
  16. Rollins -- 65 percent. Price is right. They like having a veteran. And they're hoping he has a few months in the tank left. Saladino -- 25 percent. Sox seem to be genuinely high on his glove. If Rollins bombs in spring training, he's the guy. Sanchez -- 9 percent. This might be high, considering I haven't heard anybody in the organization say a single positive word about hism since the end of last season. Anderson -- 1 percent. If he's there, he has a chance. But not much.
  17. There will be stories written like this at 29 of 30 big-league camps this weekend. the exception will be the Wrigleys. All their guys have always been in shape and will alway be in shape in their quest for 162-0.
  18. what were the White Sox ranked, for those of us aren't ESPN insiders? EDIT: just saw the title. can anybody post all the numbers?
  19. worth the risk. Some people don't like him because of attitude, but it's a one-year deal and if he wants to stay around the big leagues and make money, he'll need to deliver. So there's incentive. @dallaslatos is a must add on twitter. make sure she's not sitting near you at the ball park if you start bashing her hubby.
  20. He'll also help out during fights.
  21. Isn't Blanton the guy who was in Moneyball because the Sox passed on him to take Royce Ring -- and Billy Beane pounced? (The answer is Yes. In fact, the Sox also passed on James Loney, Denard Span, Jeremy Guthrie, Matt Cain and Mark Teahen. But at least they made up for the Teahen oversight)
  22. Merkin also thinks Michigan is going to win the NCAA football, basketball, swimming and debate titles.
  23. He did Michigan State-Iowa Thursday night with Jim Calhoun. He is very good -- even got Calhoun through it and Calhoun is rough and unpolished with monstrous ego.
