  1. Burdi another solid outing in Birmingham. Faced the two, three, four Jacksonville hitters in the ninth. Three batters, six pitches. Two easy groundouts, one soft fly. Threw one pitch at 100 and a 90 mph slider.
  2. Engel hitting .356 with 12 runs scored and five stolen bases in his last 10 games. Two triples and five doubles in his last five games. Keep hope alive.
  3. nice bounce back by Burdi after his AA stumble. Engel earns this story. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...lb&sid=milb Finally pushed his batting average over .240 at AA and his OBP to .344.
  4. Fulmer 10ks in five innings today. been better last three appearances.
  5. Been decent. Six Ks in four innings. Catch a flight to Chicago by Friday.
  6. Has Kevan Smith ever made it back?
  7. Jake Peter at Charlotte today. Goes 1-for-4 in the doubleheaders while batting ninth. Noticed Call did not play at Great Falls. wonder if he was promoted?
  8. Beck has actually been pitching better in the pen. Last three games he's gone 5 1/3 scoreless with only 3 hits, no walks and 5 Ks. Last 10 outings, 30 innings, 27 hits, 10 walks, and 25 Ks. He's allowed 9 runs in that stretch, but 5 were in one outing.
  9. depression. No hope or idea who will fix this or how they can do it.
  10. What did Collins do?
  11. Could be worse I remember a 19-0 loss to the Angels in May 2002. Scott Schoenweis over Danny Wright. Tim Salmon, Adam Kennedy and Garret Anderson had about 20 of the Angels 24 hits.
  12. Pick one: James Shields: A) starts at Fenway Thursday B) goes on the DL with a bogus injury. C) makes a trip to the pen
  13. Seven scoreless for Ranaudo. Just four hits. But no Ks. Tanner Banks also pitching a strong game at Winston Salem.
  14. Adam Engel has also quietly bounced back from his slow start and demotion. He's hitting .349 with an OBP of .453 in June. has 11 Walks to go with 13 Ks, driving in 9 runs while scoring 10. There's still hope.
  15. They need to make moves if they expect fans to keep turning out By July, when the Bears start camp, the chatter will be all Cubs and Bears.
  16. Actually the last Sox draft pick from Miss State was Matt Ginter, but other than me and Mrs. Ginter nobody remembers him. From back in the day when Baseball America loved the Sox farm system and ranked Jon Rauch the top prospect in all of baseball.
  17. They need to add Bruce == and then ask the commissioner if they can play 10 or 11 against 9.
  18. I've tried not to be a Ventura basher. And I'm not Walter Cronkite. But he's lost me.
  19. Prospect of any significant value? Can he be a 4 or 5 starter?
  20. What about Jordan Guerrero? Similar to the game Spencer Adams pitched yesterday. Not many strikeouts, but no runs.
  21. Anderson, Coats and Delmonico keep hitting. Coats is leading the International League in hitting, third in total bases and third in OBP (.399). I know the word is Sands is around because he can play first base, but I have to believe Coats could help in more ways.
  22. Expecting DeAza to double and homer, while stealing a base and scoring two runs.
  23. It's Kahnle. Shuck spends two months in Charlotte and then comes up and hits 5th? Mercy.
  24. can't remember a worse loss in a longgggggg time.
  25. Kahnle will walk in the winning run.
