5/28 Game thread: @Kansas City, 1:15pm, WGN
winninguglyin83 replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2016 Season in Review
First question post-game: What time does Rick Renteria take over? -
Not even Kenny Williams can be that stupid -- I think. But he does love flipping every prospect we have.
-
San Diego paper. no mention of Anderson http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2...rade-white-sox/
-
Buddy Bell will be 65 in August. He never played for the Sox. He was a failure as a big-league manager. No reason for any loyalty. He needs to go -- ASAP. Our player development of position players in embarrassingly bad.
-
Fulmer likely needs to retreat to Winston Salem and regroup. 34 walks in 46 innings? our farm system has hitter who K all the time and never walk and pitchers not throwing strikes. Not a good game plan.
-
Fulmer might need to take a trip to Winston Salem to rebuild his confidence and get guys out.
-
Anderson not in the lineup at Charlotte tonight. Maybe ...
-
Timmy to the rescue tomorrow? pretty sure EJ starting Monday.
-
Seven strong innings by Adams. 4 1/3 encouraging innings by Ranaudo Two more hits by Jake Peter.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) I have yet to see Joe Maddon asked about the White Sox, nor have I seen Jake Arrieta asked about Chris Sale. Even if this were going on, it would legitimize this a little bit more in my eyes. Paul Sullivan of the Tribune did an entire story about what Maddon thinks about the White Sox -- and I thought that was lazy as hell. Who cares what Maddon thinks? He's won one fewer World Series than Ned Yost, Charlie Manuel and Ozzie Guillen. And one other thing: The Sun Times sends out a sport email letter every day if you sign up for it: The number one story they touted this morning was promoting the upcoming Cubs/Giants Series. No. 2 was Sale going 9-0. If you're going to promote an upcoming series, wouldn't the White Sox playing the World Series champs IN TOWN rate ahead of a Cubs-Giants series? The Cub groveling is ridiculous.

watch the Blue Jays first base coach #60 Owens. He runs into the scrum. Sees that he is outnumbered 3 or 4 to 1 and veers off to the side.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 15, 2016 -> 11:24 PM) I want to see Avila catch Rodon ditto

Davidson has also been on a decent streak. Two 2bs tonight and has that batting average over .260, a major jump for him. Spencer Adams also throwing well tonight -- six Ks and only two hits through five innings.
-
batting average keeps rising for Jacob May. Jake Peter keeps hitting. Basto cooling off.
-
time to promote basto
-
Engel has been a disappointment. Jake Peter has probably done the best job to date.
-
First time they've had 5 shutouts in first 22 games since 1973. That team had 6 -- and also started 16-6. Three starts by Wilbur Wood, two by Eddie Fisher and one by Stan Bahnsen. I won't say any more about how that team finished.

Mason Robbins hits for cycle at WS.

Miguel Gonzalez optioned to AAA, Daniel Webb called up
winninguglyin83 replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
thought Gonzalez did not have any options. -
Engel just get a night off? Jake Peter playing LF as well as infield spots. Ben Zobrist Lite by 2018 or so?
-
nice start by johnson, too, especially considering he has been sitting around for a week or so.

Miguel Gonzalez getting called up, Danks skipped

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) Ventura is not going to start heaping dirt on a veteran player like Dank's grave, but its obvious that Danks is on the outs. I'm wondering why now. Danks was decent against the Angels in his last start and with the amount of money Danks is owed I figured they would give him at least another couple starts before making a move like this. Three possible reasons for this happening now: 1) last year of Danks deal, money is spent either way 2) the team looks good, cant afford to sacrifice games early in the season trying to wrestle some value out of Danks 3) Danks has admitted to coaches he's done and wont be upset if the Sox phase him out Saw it in this thread. re-reading it, it's just a suggestion. Can't imagine Danks doing it. But it was raised as a possible theory here. -

Where/when did Danks admit to the coaches he was done and won't be upset if the Sox phase him out? Missed that.
