Prospects of the Month, July 2016
thanks for doing the research, analysis and writing these pieces. Very informative and entertaining. A necessary salve for the desultory big-league season. Many thanks.

Why watch / listen / care?
if you enjoy baseball and the White Sox you watch. You always watch. It's what you do. But for individual reasons? Is Tilson a legit prospect? Can Anderson learn to manage the strike zone? Will Rodon turn it around? Is Fulmer going to figure it out or need more seasoning? Will Abreu become Abreu again? Is Lawrie a useful piece? Plenty of reasons to stay tuned.

At least Melky always brings it.

Fulmer should still be in the minor leagues, learning how to pitch, improving his command, maintaining his confidence and saving his service time. Dumb to let him get knocked around.

White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals
The view from St. Louis perspective: Duke was acquired for a "modest" cost. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/jef...301c719792.html

Rodon needs to A) get in shape (trending toward Albers) and B) spend some time in Charlotte, working on command and his off-speed pitch. He's going to finish this season with fewer wins than Mat Latos.

they wanted to make sure Jose finished the month of July with a donut for HRs.

Rodon recalled from DL
who will be the new #2 lefty? Purke again? Clark?

White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals
is he coming to chicago or Charlotte? playing in the Cardinals' system, at least he should be better at fundamentals than most. Getting Duke off the books for next season is a plus.

7/30 Games
Call just keeps hitting. Does he have any other projectable tools? fourth outfielder? his walk/Ks are pretty balanced.
-
7/29 Games
scoreless inning with 2 Ks and a walk by Burdi Hansen two hitless innings with two Ks.
-
7/29 Games
also six solid innings by Tyler Danish. Third straight decent game

Robertson on Nats radar
Heard Jim Bowden say that the Nats are interested in Miller or Melancon, not Robertson. Heard Bowden say Robertson's performance and contract make him less desirable than you think.
-
Dodgers kicking Tires on Q
trading Sale or Quintana to Cubs and watching either help them win the World Series would be the stupidest thing any Sox management person could do. not going to happen. Nor should it.

Rowand will manage AZL fall team
i like it.

White Sox Listening on Sale
Heard Kenny's guy -- Bob Nightengale of USA Today -- on Buster Olney's podcast today. he says Frazier is most likely to go. He said that he did not expect Sale to be traded until the off season. Olney said that he believed Robertson would be dealt because of the contract. Nightengale mostly agreed. That was pretty much it. No mention of Q, Melky or Duke.

Rodon to get rehab start
Game is actually in Louisville tonight. He's matched against Homer Bailey.

navarro
Jim Bowden and another dude were talking about the White Sox on the mlb radio network today. They said the #1 problem the sox had was catching. Called it the worst in the AL, especially in pitch framing. They suggested pursuing LeCroy but also noted the Sox didn't have much to give for him. I'm not certain it's the #1 problem. But it's high on the list. i don't have the answer. But it's not Navarro playing the majority of the games.

Burdi Watch
Ooops. They let Burdi pitch a second inning and it went off the rails. HBP Infield single. Sac Bunt -- and he threw the ball away to make it 2-1. Single. Tie game. Burdi came back to get two Ks before they replaced him with Sanburn. 1 2/3 innings. 5 Ks, one walk, one hit batter, two singles (one infield) and a throwing error on a sac bunt. threw 45 pitches, 26 strikes.

Burdi Watch
Zack Burdi three Ks and a walk. third straight scoreless appearance. came back and got the last hitter on a 3-1 count Barons' twitter said he did it with three off-speed pitches. and a story on Burdi from this week http://www.wdrb.com/story/32448520/bozich-...m-the-white-sox

Rodon's Replacement in Rotation
