4/22 Games
Just curious for those who have seen: What is a legit projection for Dykstra? back level starter? mid relief? AAAA? Eager to hear from people who have seen him. Great start this year. But only 10 Ks in 20 innings and he's old for High A.

Buddy Bell has one more conference call to pitch Jared Mitchell's potential.

4/13 Games
maybe Erik Johnson might become a 7th or 8th inning guy.

Bleacher Report predicts 87-75 second wild card spot
Didn't Peavy prefer Flowers to A.J. so Tyler was Jake's guy?

Shark opening day starter
Maybe they're trying to curry favor with Jeffrey to get him to accept a hometown discount.

Who's on Second?
Carlos Beckham has had his shot. He should be utility guy. Sanchez best fielder and in time he will hit well enough. No power. But he can be a functional bottom of the order piece. Micah needs more reps in minors.

Sox sign Gordon Beckham, designate Viciedo for Assignment
The Orioles have an outfield of DeAza, Jones and Snider (whom they just acquired) with David Lough and Pearce the other options. I'll guess they will get involved. Certainly appears the Sox did not want him in camp and forced the action now. If the Mariners are actually interested, they have 10 days to step forward. Bravo for that. As for Beckham, nobody had claimed No. 15 yet. I think the theory is fine of him being the backup. I just wonder how accepting he'll be of sitting behind Johnson or sanchez. The LA Times reported that he turned down a utility deal with the Angels because he wanted to be a starter. Maybe he'll be motivated on a one-year deal and play for a better contract. Yes, The royals claimed Sierra, but he's no longer on their 40-man. As long as they don't bring back Dunn, I will not complain.

Anybody else having trouble supporting this team?
I'll feel awful as soon as I'm convinced every other teams is playing by the rules. call me when that happens.

Sox acquire Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa
Relax. It's Aaron Poreda.

Sox claim Rob Brantly
gotta be phegley. He didn't play much after they brought him up. He's below average behind the plate. And he hasn't hit in the big leagues -- other than his first week. I've never seen Smith play, but have to figure they like him a little to protect him. Never gotten the sense Ventura or the coaching staff was big on Phegley. Just flat-out misses too many balls.

Kenny Williams discussed as CEO candidate in Toronto
Maybe he's heard the Blue Jays are interested in talking his boy Adam Dunn out of retirement.

BA White Sox top prospects
What about Carlos Sanchez? He only had 104 big league plate appearances.
-
BA White Sox top prospects
I'd be surprised if he graduated. He only pitched in 5 big league games and didn't make it past AA ball. BA leans heavily on how high guys were drafted and what kind of bonus they were paid. Bassitt does not check those boxes.
-
BA White Sox top prospects
It is nice to see Ravelo recognized. He did not make the top 20 in the Southern League, likely because he doesn't have what BA considers "tools." They always lean toward the guys who might have plus speed or power or defense. As we know, the tools guys often bust. Dude can hit, though. But why no Bassitt? I don't get that.

BA White Sox top prospects
hard to rank adolfo. He's a mystery man. vote of no confidence in Hawkins, Thompson. surprised Bassitt didn't make the list. That's a mistake, IMO.

Go Get Joe Maddon
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) And Williams has a ring and a trophy. Maddon has neither. Players matter. If Maddon goes to a team with a bad roster his genius will be erased. It has happened so many times, yet continues to be ignored. I generally agree. You can look at the records of Pinella, Dusty and Jim Frey on the other side of town. But folks around baseball respect Maddon. His 'genius' seems to be in running the clubhouse and getting his guys to play hard and fundamentally sound. Guys who did not buy in -- Upton, Young -- were sent on their way. He was a consistent winner in the toughest division in baseball. He's got tremendous leverage for once in his life -- and he's going get somebody (Cubs, Mets) to pay him a lot of money.

Go Get Joe Maddon
Ken Rosenthal already speculating that he'll be in Chicago, but on the wrong side of town. that won't be good news for the White Sox -- in any shape or form.
-
Go Get Joe Maddon
Much of it is self-promotion and dealing with the media. He's great at that. Maddon has sold himself as a guy who has a quirky way of dealing with his players. He also took a small market, low payroll team to the post-season four times in six season and won 90 or more five times. You have to figure Don Mattingly will be looking over his shoulder now that Friedman is with the Dodgers. But I'd love to see him with the Sox.

Go Get Joe Maddon
Joe Maddon opts out of his contract at Tampa after nine solid years. How about moving Robin to the front office and making a change, Rick Hahn?

Gavin Floyd?
thought i read last year that his preference was signing with team that trained in florida, where he lives in off season.
