Night and day from what he’s swing looked like the last two years. Gonzalez looks dangerous up there.

Dick Allen played 3rd and some outfield in the NL. When he came to the Sox he played first base exclusively. When a former NL opponent asked him what you had to do to play first, he reportedly said, “Hit like a motherf***er.” Which he did. If Gonzales swings it like he had been, he’ll be fine playing first.

For my money, today’s MVP was Taylor.

If Peters was coming in for D anyway, would have liked Gonzo to have gotten the at bat for Grichuk.

Noticed Gonzalez got number 7. That has been his number throughout the minors, so worked out good for him. Would like to see him get an at bat in the eighth

The bottom of this order is so bad that Valdez is gonna throw a complete game. Really tough to watch 5-9 today.

Do not like the way this game is trending. That walk was bad.

At least Acura’s terrible at bats are short.

Beni is on the clock now. If Gonzalez hits, he can take Beni’s at bats away from him going forward.

Grade 2 is horrible news. Given the Sox history of dealing with these, we may not see him until August.

I hope Mune is really out for only two weeks. Hamstrings are tricky. That said, happy for Jacob Gonzalez. Worked his ass off and totally bought in to Sox hitting program. I have been down on him since he was drafted, but he seems like a good kid. I hope he kills it.

They have played now. Gonzalez 3-4 HR, 2b. Braden 1-1 with 3 bb. Gonzalez out of game. Possibly cuz Mune?

Sox players should not have to run. Too many hammies for this team
