Noticed Gonzalez got number 7. That has been his number throughout the minors, so worked out good for him. Would like to see him get an at bat in the eighth

The bottom of this order is so bad that Valdez is gonna throw a complete game. Really tough to watch 5-9 today.

Beni is on the clock now. If Gonzalez hits, he can take Beni’s at bats away from him going forward.

Grade 2 is horrible news. Given the Sox history of dealing with these, we may not see him until August.

I hope Mune is really out for only two weeks. Hamstrings are tricky. That said, happy for Jacob Gonzalez. Worked his ass off and totally bought in to Sox hitting program. I have been down on him since he was drafted, but he seems like a good kid. I hope he kills it.

Beni is a sunk cost. What it would cost is the additional salary for a mlb minimum player to replace him. They are out the cash regardless. I think Gonzo would probably be better, but I doubt they do it.

Acuna is out of options, not unlike Curtis mead.

This certainly takes some of the sting out when they inevitably DFA Acuna. Good athlete. Could never get his lefty swing going.

If the Sox had any outfielders, I'd suggest platooning Meidroth and Antonacci. But with the dearth that exists, both will be playing every day for a while.

Sandlin pitches tomorrow. Fedde keeps his spot

The Sox usually bring starters up days before their start so they can do a side session and then activate them on game day. Sandlin might be up for Fedde.

If so, the player to be named better be Roman Anthony. Good lord he's been bad.
