Split and bring the pain to Detroit

They were just shut out 13-0 by some guy named Garrett Richards. I wouldn't say they're clicking just yet. Better, certainly, but that game result makes me think they're playing just as inconsistent as they've been playing all year. This weekend will be the tipping point of the division in my mind. HUGE pitching match-ups for 2 of the 3 games. Sox need to be ON. A win today will help with the momentum this weekend.

Adam Dunn is hilarious.

If the Sox don't make the playoffs, I'm rooting for the Nats all the way. I just hope they don't pull a "newbie" playoffs performance and get swept in the NLDS. Kinda like the 2010 Reds. I love seeing fresh blood in the playoffs and they got SMACKED.

I would love for Detroit to get Richard so he could dominate the Sox for 4 innings then fall apart and give up 6 runs or so and lose...

5 with minimal damage is all we can ask for...

A healthy Humber will do wonders for this team down the stretch. If somehow Danks can come back throwing strikes and his velocity up for August/September it would be a hell of a thing. Youk just doing his thing against his former team. And being clutch as hell.

I'm in the "don't move him" boat, for team morale etc. But I think he's hurting more than he's letting on and trying to play through it. It hasn't killed this team yet, but if I'm not watching the game live Paulie at bats are almost locks for me to fast forward through if I'm trying to catch up in the game. They're just automatic pop ups or ground outs. It's awful. I know he wasn't goin to hit .400 but a drop of almost .100 points is STARTLING. A quick 15 day DL trip isn't gonna kill this team right now. Conor Jackson or Dan Johnson can easily match Paulie's output these last two months (He's been that bad) We need him healthy and hitting like he can for the stretch run. Better to DL him now and not risk him going down with a more serious injury in September and miss the playoffs.

Just like with the 4 gamer in NY, A split here is perfectly acceptable. Especially with the rotation filled with literal question marks. These non-division games don't matter as much. Hopefully they can backload the two wins or bookend them and take the momentum in Detroit.... Where s*** IS ON.

Rios is about to pass Paulie in batting average. Konerko's fall these last few months is ridiculous. An .80+ point drop in batting average would have been getting more attention is the starting average was t .399 haha But really, There is no way he's not hurt right? I know he's trying to be tough but he hasn't gottena clutch RBI hit for this team in forever. Sometimes the better move is to admit you're hurt and go on the DL for the sake of the team.

I hope Youk goes off on his former team (and manager) this next four games.

I agree moving Paulie would help, but this offense has been clicking without Paulie driving in runs, and I don't want to make drastic changes that might adversely effect this line up as a whole.

This could definitely be one of those games we will look back on at the end of the season. Jake needs to go deep, maybe even a CG, but hopefully not CG loss. Offense has got to keep it up against Hochevar

Oh and by the way that game is a loss under Ozzie. Innings ago.
