Is it odd to have 5 OFs on your roster and still be playing Brooks in RF? I mean, I’d rather see Brooks play but still.

I think limitations as in he would be just a DH, if he could hit.

Yeah Canario didn't really make sense the first time since we had 5 healthy OFs on MLB deals and it would be hard to roster him, but now that there is an injury and the DH spot is pretty open, it makes sense.

There's no point in having 2 defensive first, no bat OFs in Taylor and Jankowski.

That's why I never really understood the Taylor signing. You would be able to find some defensive first OF towards the end of camp/around now. Heck, we picked up Jankowski lol

Probably just holding off until they have to finalize the roster. Think they just picked him for insurance incase there were injuries or found someone to dump Marte on.

Looking at it again, Thorpe hasn't been placed on the 60-day yet. So if you're assuming they need to open 3 spots, I would predict: Thorpe to 60-day, Eisert DFA'd (the only lefty added they didn't trade something to get like Booser and Gilbert), and Owen White DFA'd.

You need a couple to play on your bench. I don't think I would have gone with both Taylor and Slater though. Probably just one.

Agreed. Bring him. At least give him the roster spot that Jankowski is about to get. He can platoon in the OF or just get some DH at bats.

With the injuries that have popped up, you can definitely add him and platoon him or just give him DH at bats. Who knows, by the time Tauchman is ready, there could possibly be another injury to the OF.
