There’s a whole week of baseball before getaway day before ASG

I don’t think there’s even much risk to them just carrying 2 and playing them both every day. So what. A catcher gets hurt one game and you have to pinch hit for the pitchers spot throughout the game after moving the DH to C. Not like these games matter much. So I’m on board with 3 catchers and launching someone useless.

Lee has experience at both corners. Not in the MLB but minors I believe. Helps the whole “we don’t want 3 catchers because of versatility” argument.

I could maybe see them dealing Quero to a team that needs a C if they’re getting back another similar prospect in another area of need like an OF.

Yeah and guys like Baldwin, Sosa, Vargas, Meidroth are flexible enough where having 3 regular position players on the bench doesn’t hurt you at all.

No Teel is lame. I’ll repeat what I said yesterday, I’d rather have a 3rd catcher on the roster if he means Teel and Quero are in the lineup together every day. If they’re worried about defense flexibility, hand Lee a 1B mit. Not like he doesn’t have experience there.

I’m against 3 catchers being on a roster, but honestly having a third catcher and having both Quero and Teel in the lineup everyday is better than Rojas or Noda being on the roster.

That’s only really true if they are good at their jobs. Yet to be seen one way or the other.

Benintendi likely in LF, Fletcher/Julks platoon in RF I guess.

I would assume Crapa is gone but if he actually is a decent defender at SS, then he might have the edge over Rojas. But Rojas also makes more money so idk.

Especially a position that’s supposed to have a power bat.
