  1. Which is why I think he potentially agrees to a bit of an extension with the Red Sox before he even opts out.
  2. Honestly. he kinda seems like he would be the kind of guy the Cubs would take a chance on since they can't develop pitching and can use all the help they can get. The sick part of it is, they would be praised for giving him a chance. ?
  3. Honestly, yeah I think he will get signed at some point by some rebuilding team even if I think he shouldn't by any MLB team.
  4. Being a 32-year old DH (with a QO attached this time around) makes me think he won't even opt-out to risk not getting paid what hes' even under contract for the remaining 3 years of his current deal. Hell, he signed mid-February last year after coming off of a great year. At the very least, I think maybe him and the Red Sox hammer out a new deal, adding another year or two, before he can potentially opt-out.
  5. I agree with you. I don't think he opts out. Being a DH mostly eliminates half the teams already.
  6. No way. Also, wasn't the victim his 6-year old niece? Honestly, he should know better even as a teenager.
  7. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/03/chris-sale-red-sox-extension-talks-mutually-invested-rumors.html Posted for relevance.
  8. He didn't even throw 200 last year. He was at 160. I feel he would be a pretty good arm to do it with. Have a reliever get through the first inning and then have Nova come in from innings 2-6/7. I would prefer it to be him over the youngsters. Of course, it probably means Santana is the 5th starter, who could be an innings eater himself if his finger is fine.
  9. There's no way players already don't talk about playing together off the record, but yeah it's kind of dumb to make those comments in front of a camera.
  10. Yeah it would be nice to do it with a lefty and righty for sure.
  11. Think he meant "who were against"
  12. I started watching that show Riverdale that he is on. Damn shame.
  13. Not sure that they would be an easy task.
  14. That's tough to gauge since they did get 3 useful MLB players in that deal. It wasn't just Bailey and prospects for Kyle Farmer or a PTBNL or something.
  15. I just don't see the Nats dumping Zimmerman, personally. I read yesterday that if the Nats signed Kimbrel, they would be in the lower penalty level this year (they're about $4 mill under the tax threshold now). After this year, Zimmerman and Dozier would become free agents and that would help their issue for next season. We'll see what they ultimately do.
  16. And then do what with Zimmerman/Alonso? Or try to deal Abreu somewhere (not that they'd get a lot for him)?
  17. I wouldn't say recruit but more as a "we might suck in 2019, but you can spend it with your friends" move for Machado. In the end, it didn't work out since we didn't offer the most. Ironically, the team that got him is another team that will likely suck in 2019.
  18. He wasn't brought in as a recruiter. How can he recruit for a team he hasn't even played for?
  19. I read a post on Facebook saying that the Charlotte announcer was calling the game the other day and he noticed Eloy was hitting with a new stance. I really hope that wasn't Steverson pushing for a change because why fix something that isn't broken?
