Rosenthal: Could Harper be headed to the southside
Bob Sacamano replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm with you. That guy literally could have been from where he was coming from (Chicago perhaps? Sounds like a Chicagoan). -
On the bright side, it's only 2pm over there. Still plenty of time to get some deals done.
-
Gotta admit, this made me laugh.

What exactly do you mean? What aren't you sure about believing? -

I was going to say. Sounds like bs for sure. -

There's no way you aren't Peavy44. -

Whether they call him up June or September, it doesn't really matter for service time. If he's doing great, let him come up and face big league hitters. -

Kopech likely would have been up sooner if he didn't struggle. He can be up sooner than Kopech as long as he's doing good and not injured. -

Yeah he's not really saying too much. He's playing up to everyone in contention for him. I don't think any non-monetary reason is above another. It's about the Benjamins. There's a reason Boras is his agent. -

I think so too. Not too much longer. -

Probably referring to the Sox with that "not competing in 2019, but beyond" comment since they are in on him and are not in a position to be good next year. Just out-bid everyone else and lock him up. -

They could always move players later but that would hurt the value they get back. Granted, that would be the case prior to a trade I'm sure. -

Him, Sandberg, or Joe Girardi would be my guesses. -

"We have TO outbid the Cubs and Dodgers by a lot" or "We have" as in we already did? Your sentences are giving me a brain aneurysm. -

Man I really don't want him to go to the Cubs. I know they have some bad contracts but we've seen bad contracts moved from less productive players. At least Heyward is a positive WAR player. -

God dude stop taking everything as gospel. You read or hear one rumor from a random person and think that is what is going to happen. -
I would gladly do that if I knew I got to enjoy Vegas and the weather there after.
-
The reason they want to free up money is to use it on relievers. I don't know if they would qualify Nate Jones as a reliable reliever because I sure as hell don't.

He can also take a long-term deal with an opt-out at 30. -
Don't press the panic button. Sign some stop gaps to try to flip in July or next off-season. Having said that, I've come around on the idea of Grandal. These young pitchers need a good defensive catcher.

I don't think either signs this week, but I think at least one will sign this month. -
Maybe as a platoon piece in a corner spot? Platoon with Palka then Eloy and whoever is in RF getting a break at DH?

Great at analyzing stats. Hates Abreu.

Benintendi can play CF.
