  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 03:40 PM) So you check in with the app, then go to the box office and use the card? This must be what an old person feels like when they get their first iPad. Correct. And I tested the 24 hour rule yesterday. There isn't one. Just one movie a day.
  2. QUOTE (aryzner @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 12:19 AM) Some people are angry at Puig for having fun. Then he tweets this: https://twitter.com/YasielPuig/status/919418124692209664 LOL Didn't see anyone getting mad last post season when both Contreras and Baez pimped fly balls to the outfielder lol
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 10:01 PM) True. In that moment, with the Cubs on the ropes, I like some aggressive baserunning. Make them make a play on you. Just depends on how you look at it I guess, no one is really wrong. Yep. All that matters is he eventually got around
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 09:58 PM) Russell didn’t give him a second look on that throw, he was going to first the entire time. True but if he takes off and Russell does happen to look? Out. He just can't assume he isn't going to look. Either way doesn't matter now.
  5. QUOTE (Quin @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 09:58 PM) Lmao at these announcers complaining about the blocking rule ruining an "amazing play" I hope this gets overturned.
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 09:53 PM) Some bad baserunning by the doofus on 2b Not at all actually. Rizzo was all over that bunt and Russell would have had a play on him at third had he ran. The bunt should have been attempted to be pushed down the first baseline honestly
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 09:00 PM) Taking out Kershaw is going to backfire and everyone knows it It's all good. They got through the inning he'd pitch.
  8. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 08:51 PM) Maybe LA can take it out now, and kindly hide it in the visiting clubhouse at LAA stadium when the Sox visit next year, so the Sox can have it for a while. They could just take it out now and drop it off at the Rate when they come to Chicago this week.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 08:01 PM) Makes no sense to bat him 7th regardless And they seriously need 3 catchers on the roster? No one else with speed off the bench or another arm in the pen?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 07:56 PM) No he just sucks now With the current players in the lineup, they might as well bat Puig 4th.
  11. Is Grandal hurt too? The Dodgers lineup looks like its missing more than just those two.
  12. Used movie pass for the first time last night. Really easy to use. Love that the app keeps track of the movies you see as well. Testing it again on this rainy afternoon (testing the 24-hour thing).
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) I mean, I disagree. Everything we've heard to date hasn't sounded that different than the Red Sox. So to keep hearing "this is much bigger" means there is either a much larger scale of the same thing or much bigger issues we don't know about. The initial story sounded worse than Red Sox. The fact that the GM and another (forgot who) are out immediately kinda indicates that. Agree to disagree I suppose
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 06:16 PM) Well, for starters - the title of that article is: This article really provided nothing new. We all know there really isn't anything compared to this.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 04:39 PM) New York Boston...New York...what year is it?!
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 04:04 PM) I had an idea. Maybe some of use can meet at a bar for a game in the city or burbs and root for the dodgers in silence. Ok first round's on you
  17. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 01:15 PM) I love the idea of a guy like Franco. I just don't see how the Phillies could discount him that much. It would have to take a Dunning sort of talent at least. Yeah they can easily give him one more year to figure it out.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) So does Quintana start Game 1? Or do they dare start Lackey? It's Q. Threw 12 pitches yesterday.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 09:49 AM) I have noticed at work that the cub fans here are not as cocky as 2016. It weird. I was going to say...it hasn't seemed as bad anywhere I've been as it was last year. Kinda nice. Still want them to lose obviously.
  20. The game was pretty much that episode of South Park where all the teams are trying to lose.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) He asked to be referred to as Michael A Taylor as his father's name is Anthony. It is in homage to his father. Ah ok. Didn't know.
  22. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 08:12 AM) So of the names they mentioned, Tomas has three years left, but could turn into a player and be part of the rebuild; Markakis only has one year left at $11mm, so he could be an ideal bridge to Eloy Jimenez if we trade Avi this offseason; and Ellsbury has 3 years left at a little over $21mm per year, so he has the worst contract, but he was also a constructive player last year and maybe could hold down center until Luis Robert arrives. For a guy like Markakis (who isn't really making a lot of money anyway), I don't see the Braves giving up anything significant to get rid of him so expectations in a deal would have to be very small. I assume they will make him 4th OF or possibly release him when Acuna is ready. Their payroll isn't high.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 07:07 AM) I disagree that Martes stunk it up, he performed fine as a 21 year old rookie. ERA wasn’t good but strikeout numbers were strong and he flashed some good potential, no way the Astros would just let him go for scraps, I doubt his price is down much if at all. Especially after just 54 innings. Shocker: prospect struggles in first cup of coffee in the majors. What were the chances of that happening?!
  24. QUOTE (Yoda @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 06:37 AM) I also think they'll repeat. The Dodgers don't really convince me as a team that is up to par like the Nats were. Besides Kershaw, I don't know anyone else in their rotation that can stop the Cubs offense. And even the Cubs had Kershaw's number last postseason. Alex Wood had a great year. Hill was good. Hopefully Darvish can bounce back from the season he had.
