  1. Do you guys see him as the leadoff hitter for next season? Or maybe a competition with Tilson?
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) Seth 'Duffman' Beer I love that.
  3. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) Gotta have 3 yrs of college, unless it is a JC. He has played one year, so he can be drafted in 2018. Gotcha. Thanks. #beerme
  4. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 02:29 AM) http://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_...freshman-phenom How come he isn't eligible to be in the draft next year? I'm not disappointed (since we pick 11) just curious.
  5. QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Whenever I hear Eric Thames, I keep thinking of Marcus.... Marcus played for DET, Eric played for TOR. Dude, you and me both.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) He's home right now doing bong hits after spending the last 96 hours nonstop with KW. He's calling the suicide hotline number more like it.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) What's laughable is you think all those people who come to games with their White Sox swag on really aren't there for the game, they are there to be entertained by something else. The game may be icing on the cake. Bizarre. Exactly. A day/night out with some friends who just like the team casually. Do some tailgating beforehand, grab some beers inside, catch up with people for a while. One of my groups of friends I associate myself with do this a couple times a year and then I don't see them again due to being busy lol but I do have other friends that are die-hard like myself that I enjoy going to games with for the games and players with.
  8. Evan Gattis was even better than our guys lol #bringbackhectorsanchez
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) You said they aren't there for the game. Here's the reality, the vast majority of people at a baseball game aren't there for the game. That's your quote. So why would winning be fun? BTW, Sox games can be really cheap. Like cheaper than the Schaumburg Boomers if you go on Sunday. Weekdays too. They let fans down in the lower level if expected attendance is under 25,000. So pay $7 for outfield corners and then just sit anywhere you seat empty seats. Too many times past few years I've bought $7 tickets only to end up behind the dugout.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) Look, nobody likes a loser. Nobody's going to go to the ballpark to see a last-place team. I mean some folks who love prospects will go, maybe a couple thousand die hards, but considering how much it costs to go to a game, once the Sox are buried in the standings the Cell will be a morgue. If the rebuild works and someday they start winning, of course the fans will return. But if the Sox suck next season and are 8 out on May 1, forget it. The park will be empty and those who love prospects will be able to spread out and watch games in comfort. The park will be empty. I still plan on enjoying a Friday night game after work (take the Metra to the ballpark from the city) or a Saturday day or night game throughout the season. Something to do and cheap. I was on a solid pace of one game every home weekend last season so that will likely continue next year.
  11. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Anyone know what Rick Hanh is up to today? Is he on the phone making deal, or is he busy toying with the sacks he took from Rizzo yesterday? I assume he's on a plane currently heading to wherever he resides. And then gets back to his phone.
  12. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) "closer Todd Frazier". Did they want Frazier or Robertson? Also, I don't know why this wasn't done to get them to include Robles and a couple decent lottery tickets if it was Robertson. I assume Robertson.
  13. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 1m1 minute ago The #Nationals tried to get #WhiteSox to expand the Adam Eaton trade to include closer David Robertson, but Sox refused, will deal separately Good. Stick to your guns the rest of the off-season, Hahn.
  14. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) Anybody think we would kick $ in to move a Robertson trade along? I know JR doesn't typically do that, but I think it would probably drum up more interest. I know his contract isn't a killer compared to what the open market is right now, but it definitely does come with risk given that he hasn't exactly been great. I just feel like a team would be more willing to give up something decent if they were getting Robertson at say 2/$18M I hope so.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Yeah, I have that same smidge of disappointment that what was supposed to an "unprecedented haul" ended up a tad smaller than hoped. One more significant piece like Devers could have offset that a little. Still in all, a good trade with a great headliner. Agreed. Felt like it was a piece off. But combined with the Eaton deal, great hauls so far.
  16. What about Christian Villanueva if Frazier gets dealt? He was non-tendered I believe. Edit: I see he missed all of last year with an ankle injury but a minor league deal doesn't hurt.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) I look at it like this. Will the Sox suck next year? Yes. Will they suck the year after that? Probably. The year after? Maybe. But how is that any different than the past 8 years? It's been almost a decade since the Sox made the playoffs. I'm much more optimistic about the Sox now than I was 72 hours ago. The prospects might bust, but at least they tried something new and picked a direction. I can't fault them for that. I'd rather watch a 55 win team with young potential than the same 75 win team year after year that never gets any better because they constantly acquire old, declining talent.. Pretty spot on. We at least have hope.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) Anyone expect Q to get dealt today? No. Robertson? Maybe.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) At least you could acknowledge I was right, and what this guy wrote really made no sense from the get go. Agreed. White Sox paying Q to pitch somewhere is a ridiculous idea due to his contract being so team friendly. Its a big part of the reason why you would acquire him.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) Yes, yes, yes! But we already cleaned out their system lmao. So who do they have left that the Sox would want? Severino? Stevenson? Turner? We cleaned out some of their best prospects but yeah, as you've listed, there are more.
  21. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) Free Agents taking a flyer Desmond Jennings Derek Holland Oswaldo Arcia Nathan Evoladi out for the year, but give him a 2 year contract to rehab this year Eric Aybar Pedro Alvarez Joe Smith Greg Holland Colby Rasmus sign with a team yet? I'd include him on the list.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) Dan HayesVerified account ‏@CSNHayes Rick Hahn didn't think anything was imminent -- "but still thoroughly engaged, deeply engaged on a number of different fronts." #WhiteSox Beautiful.
  23. Dodgers are apparently not willing to match the Marlins offer.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:24 AM) Miguel Montero would be the ideal acquisition. I agree. We have financial flexibility and he wouldn't cost a lot. Cubs pitchers liked throwing to him and I think he was a positive mentor towards Contreras (who still needs work himself).
  25. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 09:31 AM) When is Beer eligible to be drafted? Sign me up for tanking Supposedly 2018. Go for worst record next season!
