Dammit. A few sources on the Rangers side already shot this down. It makes sense that they would squish this rumor. They're trying to win now just like the Astros. That was fun for a whole 45 minutes.

If the Sox want Mazara (if there is any truth to this rumor), I wonder if the Sox could package Melky along with some money with Quintana so the Rangers at least have a stop gap in the outfield for a year.

I think if you accept a deal for Mazara, it would only come with 2 other pieces. Not saying that I'm against that but just throwing it out there.

He really shouldn't be that relied on. Say if the Dodgers moved him in a deal for a pitcher under control for a while and could throw over 200+ innings right now (cough cough Quintana cough cough), I would assume the acquiring team, if rebuilding, would keep him in the minors for close to a season. Dodgers may be in need a starter in July if not sooner (Ryu, Hill or someone else) can go on the dl and miss significant time.
