  1. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) Think I'd rather have Profar over Gallo.. Not at all impressed with Gallo QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 08:06 AM) Exactly my feelings. Gallo has a huge bust factor about him. He's only 22 and could turn it around, but MLB results are scary so far. I know people hate on Profar having 3 years of control, but that doesn't mean we couldn't use him. And if they are in a rebuild mode, they, could also deal him in a year or 2. It would just depend on what else comes over here.
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:20 AM) They... Have... Outfield... Depth. This. Nowhere to play him.
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 07:47 AM) There isn't much of a difference in quality of hitting, just different styles. And defensively, Melky has actually been the better player by advanced metrics. Yes, Bruce is a couple years younger, but I'm not sure why that matters when both are only under control for one more season and Jay has been the one unable to stay healthy in recent years. The difference is salary is $2M, which is pretty meaningless. Unless you are desperate for power, I would personally take Melky over Bruce, especially if I were an AL team. Agreed 100%.
  4. Hopefully rumors pick up soon! (Sorry to all those who open this thinking there's an update!)
  5. We may even wake up to deals (not necessarily our team). But I remember getting up for work at 3am to go to my retail job when I was in college and just reading rumors most of my shift.
  6. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Man I thought there'd be more action around Quintana at least. Disappointing. There could be. We don't hear everything going on.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) I would be really curious to see what is actually being offered before really judging whether the Sox screwed this up or not. Without knowing what was on the table, it is all assumptions. This. If we don't trade them, we didn't get a good enough haul.
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:56 PM) I have this awful feeling that holding on to Sale past the deadline is somehow going to bite this organization in the ass. Shhhh don't jinx him.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) Problem is this front office is going nowhere. Typically when your GM comes out and says the team he put together is "mired in mediocrity" that should be a cue to ownership that a change should be made here. Not gonna happen here though. If we don't rebuild with Hahn & KW, then we'll certainly reload with them. Sucks we don't have the resources to bring in other good relievers and offensive pieces.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) It was a typo but your point is well taken I wasn't trying to make a point or argue or anything but it just took me back to over a week ago when it seemed like we were going to make a bunch of trades this weekend. Now the feeling seems like we will only make maybe one more.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) Try being mire of a true Sox fan and less of chronic complainer and look at the brighter side of things I know this is a typo but this just brought me back to over a week ago when our own GM said we are mediocre.
  12. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) Naw, they're all just comparing notes on poop reports. Talking about color, consistency, foreign objects visible, etc. Trying to determine if team diet should change or not. Haha
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Wow, and I thought I was good at math! You're right, it's 25 hours away as we speak. Haha it's all good. I wasn't positive that it was tomorrow afternoon so that's why I questioned it.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) Mods, feel free to delete if necessary, but we're 25 minutes from first pitch with no gamethread. With the deadline only 14 hours away, figure a lot of people will be watching this one closely. 14 hours away? Thought it was in the afternoon.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) I'm sorry, what does this mean? I feel like the GM, the senior vp of operations and the manager holding a meeting the day before trade deadline would suggest something is up.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) The Cardinals are a premier org for sure Don't coach him or have him change anything until it isn't working lol
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) Dodgers looking at Archer today. They obviously want a top shelf pitcher. Work out a deal, please. Sox scouts are apparently at that game. Can't figure out why though. Which game?
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Jay Bruce deal going down? Reported yesterday the Reds aren't looking for top prospects for him.
  19. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) You save 7 million and get a guy who can play center and hits lefty. While he has little power, if he is a cardinal he will do everything else the "right" way. Exactly. Don't let anyway change anything about him.
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:27 AM) I really doubt we'll be trading for a higher caliber replacement Don't think that's what he meant.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Yeah I agree, I meant to say that it wasn't enough for him Yeah I figured that's what you meant. I was just saying.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) Hahn needs to tell Ventura not to pitch Robertson today. I don't think one appearance is going to matter.
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:59 AM) Frazier, Torres, Sanchez, and one of Severino/Bird for Chris Sale? Lmao Need both Severino and Bird. And Aaron Judge. Edit: and probably Sheffied.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) Most of the time, these guys with the limited no trade clauses have them in there for financial reasons. They normally have all the big market contenders on their so if they do get traded there they have some leverage in squeezing out more money. This didn't seem the case here. He must really not want any part of Cleveland. I am sure the Tribe could offer him an extension that would make him think summers in Cleveland are the nicest summers . Looks like he used to block a trade unless Cleveland would void his option for next season making him a free agent. Don't know if we're on the list or not, but even if we wanted him, he'd do the same here.
  25. Like living in Milwaukee is so much better lol
