Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) The fact that I like it so much tells me LAD would probably say no. Lol yeah...more than likely. I've pointed out a few times though that they get basically 3 first round picks in next year's draft if Turner and Jansen sign elsewhere, along with a possible draft pick for Frazier in 2018. Maybe they can look at it that way and figure they can recoup some big losses in a trade now? Edit: also just really bored at work lol

Rumor: Reported Potential Red Sox package for Sale
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 03:31 PM) Nah, I would've posted it too. I just don't think the words "rumor" or "reported" should be in the title because they got me excited for mere speculation. Me too lol I came back from a lunch outing with co-workers and I almost spit out my water lol

Jason Castro signs with Twins at 3 years 24.5 million
QUOTE (heirdog @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) The quote just seems to lump the Sox as "speculative fits based on need." While it's true that catcher is a need, doesn't mean that they have actually shown any interest. This. It seems like a lot of people can't tell the difference.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
Who says no? White Sox get: Urias, Bellinger, Verdugo, Lux, Buehler, Barnes and Puig (as a throw in) Dodgers get: Sale, Frazier, and Robertson Lot of moving parts, but would be big for both teams.

2016-17 free agency thread (NON WHITE SOX RELATED)
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 02:42 PM) Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 2h2 hours ago 12/1 CBA expiration date wreaking havoc on FA process. Teams/agents not sure of luxury tax threshold. One agent: "Should've expired 11/1". Agreed! Very stupid to have it expire a month into the off-season.

Rumor: Reported Potential Red Sox package for Sale
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Is this Birenbaum guy credible? I've never heard of him before. Hes a writer but hes not reporting on anything. Just saying what he'd want.

White Sox focused on Rebuild
I don't understand the "if we blow this deal, it screws the club for decade(s)." If he leaves in 3 years via free agency, we aren't screwed?

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 05:49 PM) Why no way? My bad I thought there was an amd between Benintendi and Moncada. Still don't see it happening. I see it being one of Benintendi and Bradley, and then one of Moncada and Devers, and then 3 other guys.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) Callis talking about a package from Boston of JBJ, Moncada or Benintendi, Devers and Kopech. No way that deal happens. I was listening live to this and shook my head.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Houston will probably look to give away their 1b/DH who struggled mightily (Tyler White), just like the Rangers with Gallo. Tucker, the first round draft pick with some similarities to Ryan Sweeney but more power potential, is another name. Plus they do have a logjam with Bregman, Gurriel, Altuve and Correa, unless one of the first two go to LF/DH/1b (losing some surplus positional calue.) Plus, they already have Gattis. There's also the Pirates, Rangers and Cardinals to consider. Still believe the Dodgers want to send Puig packing in any major trade. They also added Aoki already who's number look good last year. Added him to help off-set all the K's in the lineup.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 04:39 PM) The Wild card for Houston is Yulieski Gurriel. Both he and Bregmann play 3b. It makes no sense for the White Sox to go after him since he's 32, but they have to figure out where he's playing next year. They have a young 1b who might be sliding in, which would move Gurriel to corner OF perhaps, which makes for an odd setup when you've just signed a Cuban 3b. They have a few young 1B. Gattis also in DH spot.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 04:17 PM) It would take more than Bregman to get a deal done Bregman, Tucker and Musgrove/Martes/Whitley/Paulino plus one more B+ prospect starts to get close to an acceptable return for the White Sox Well yeah...they suggested Bregman and then like 4 others.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) Feels like less talk about Houston as a potential partner than I would think. They'd seem to be a type of team looking to make a big splash and get to the next level - especially with an affordable contract like Sale (maybe worth more to Houston than a Dodgers type with inifinite $) Matt Spiegel on the Score was talking about how he loves them as a destination for Sale. They need a front of the rotation arm to go along with the great youth around the rest of the field. Him and Jim Callis were saying Bregman could be expendable since Correa and Altuve are up the middle and Gurriel is at third. Would love to get Bregman.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (bruni @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) Why do posters keep talking about the Dodgers reluctance to include Urias in a package for Sale when even since July it was reported that Urias was dangled as part of a return for Sale? For Sale alone the deal must include Urias plus 2 top 50 prospects and at least one more top 100 guy. Throw Frazier into the mix would likely require another top 100 guy and 2 lottery picks. This is why - to me anyway - the Dodgers should have the ammo to pull off the deal. Agreed. And, depending on what else the Dodgers do this offseason, they will have 3 picks in the first 35 or so. And if they don't resign Frazier, they can get a draft pick for him in the 2018 draft. They can restock their farm a bit. They also have the ability to lock up Sale beyond his current deal.

Why a rebuild scares me
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) Well said, good friend. I've already come to grips with seeing Sale in a different uniform. It is what it is. All I hope is the Sox improve from this process. Exactly. Sucks it's come to this since he's so great but it is what it is.

Destinations for Adam Eaton
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) You don't have to though. He has 4 years of control. Can be moved at deadline. Or next offseason. Or the one after. This is the point I've been hammering lol everyone is trying to rush everyone out of here. A full rebuild can take 3-4 years (maybe even more). Guys can be held onto and dealt if you don't feel like a deal is what you want right now. Realistically, I see one of Sale/Quintana, Abreu, Jones and likely Eaton here for at least until June. I don't see many teams willing to give up their top talent. I'd love to be proven wrong and see most of those guys dealt for huge hauls but I'm taking a realistic approach. Melky, Frazier, Robertson and one Sale/Q I see dealt.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 10:47 AM) Every team in the majors would take Seager over Sale. He's a SS that just put up 7.5 fWAR and has 5 years of control remaining, lol. Yep. My post was supposed to be a response to the guy who suggested we get Seager back lol
-
Why a rebuild scares me
I'm nervous about a rebuild, but I'm ready for a change and it's worth the risk.
-
Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
Honestly, if I were the Dodgers, I'd take Seager over Sale. If they dealt Seager, they would have no 2B, 3B, or SS.

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (South Sider @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) We had plans to go to a couple of games in July and probably for the rest of the year, but when the "Meltdown" happened we pretty much decided against it. It's sad, the Sox could have started playing well, but we almost knew that they wouldn't. The Sox currently have exciting players worth seeing in person, but it's incredibly disheartening to have an exciting start to the season followed by sheer mediocrity. There was no reason for me to move my butt into the city, pay several dollars for transit or parking and beer, as well as food. It doesn't help that I'm a student and I have to be concerned about my budget. When I choose to expend on entertainment, I want to be excited about it. I couldn't find excitement even for Sale games. I feel ya man. I've been on a budget most of this past year due to most of my earnings going towards my school loans. Trying to save money by paying them off ASAP lol

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
QUOTE (South Sider @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) I'm right there with you. This could be one of, if not the most epic offseason in White Sox history. While I love our players, big time trades that may revitalize the franchise are enough to get me stoked about next year. Heck, if enough of the new acquisitions actually play next year, you might even see me go to more games! Young exciting talent, cheap tickets, short beer and bathroom lines? I will be there to drink a few beers and have a good time with some buds for sure. This past season, I basically refused to go for the last 3 months.
